Release information

This tag was first distributed as part of the Trainer Tag Battle with Two People ~Mewtwo and Zarude Challenge!~, which was held as part of Mezastar Festa 2022. The Festa was present at ÆON Mall Odaka, Nagoya on October 8, 2022; at ÆON Mall Sapporo Hassamu, Sapporo on October 22, 2022; at ÆON Mall Nogata, Fukuoka on November 6, 2022; at ÆON Mall Shin-Rifu South Building, Miyagi on November 13, 2022; at the Mori complex of ÆON LakeTown, Saitama on November 19, 2022; and at ÆON Mall Ibaraki, Osaka on November 27, 2022.[1] Each venue was planned to accommodate 300 groups of two people, one of which was required to be of junior high school age or younger. Groups present at the reception area of each venue at the allotted time were given a pair of lottery wristbands with a number. If the number of groups wishing to participate was over capacity, a lottery was conducted; otherwise, everyone with a lottery wristband could take part. If a lottery took place, winning numbers were announced at the reception area and on the official Mezastar Twitter account. Each group would face Bug Catcher Girl Yoshika and Star Trainer Masahito in a Trainer Tag Battle (the same opponents could be challenged during the second Double Chain set) and each member was randomly given either a copy of this tag or a Mewtwo tag regardless of the battle's outcome.

Visitors at the Mezastar Festa 2022 venues could also obtain a promotional Keldeo tag and a Mezastar TV sticker set by proving to attendants they had subscribed to the Mezastar TV YouTube channel, as well as watch performances by the Mezastar Navigators Masato, Ai, Sakura, and J.

A second Trainer Tag Battle with Two People ~Mewtwo & Zarude Challenge!~ event was held at participating locations with a Pokémon Mezastar arcade machine on weekends and public holidays between October 29 and November 13, 2022.[2] Most stores could accommodate up to 10 groups of two people; spaces were allocated by lottery if more than the allotted number of people were present at the start of an event. These events also had no age restriction on group members. The Trainer Tag Battle opponents were the same as those held during Mezastar Festa 2022; however, the prizes were different. Each person in a group was given a copy of the promotional Mewtwo and Zarude tags for participating, as well as a random tag dispensed from their station. Groups that won their Trainer Tag Battle were also awarded a certificate.
