"Strong winds"
The game doesn't use "strong winds" when the ability activates. IIRC, it uses something like "mysterious aura". When I get home, I'll check, but it's not strong winds. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 18:13, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Super-effective removal
Is there a reason to doubt that super-effectivity against Flying types is just removed/overridden, similar to how Ground ineffectiveness is by Iron Ball etc.? (In particular, is the message "weakened the move" still followed by "very effective" even if Flying was the only weakness?) In other words, is there a specific reason to assume Expert Belt is not "etc." when we say "for the purposes of damage-reducing Berries, Weakness Policy, etc."? - Tests in ORAS confirm:
- there's no message
- damage is not affected by Expert Belt
- it affects something other than power (low-level Geodude did 1 HP damage to Rayquaza with Rollout)
- So, I think it's safe to assume that the 2x type effectiveness multipliers are just replaced by 1x, so Filter and variations aren't affected either. Nescientist (talk) 10:03, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
New Title: Strong Winds?
In Pokémon Sun and Moon, the official name of the "mysterious air current" is "Strong Winds".
This information can be found on the bottom screen during a battle where the condition is active:

| The strong winds condition. The power of supereffective moves against Flying-type Pokémon will be weakened. |
This should be a core-series confirmation of the official name of this condition. The use of "mysterious air current" could just be a description of the condition.

- I would support moving the page to "strong winds". We had pre-release ORAS info use that name as well, and now the games use it too. --SnorlaxMonster 09:16, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- I agree that the page should be moved, but I think "Strong winds" (lowercase 'w') should be used rather than "Strong Winds". The title that appears above the bottom-screen description is in Title Case for every condition in Sun and Moon, even those that are not capitalized otherwise (e.g. "Critical-Hits ↑", "Sea of Fire"); so it shouldn't be a factor in determining whether to capitalize something. The description does not capitalize "strong winds", so it doesn't seem like it's one of the franchise's many always-capitalized terms. —Randomwaffle23 (talk) 03:00, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
Minor question
Is Mega Rayquaza the only Pokémon that can summon this weather condition (without a move or Ability such as Skill Swap)? Also, is the weather condition summoned when a non-Mega Rayquaza Pokémon gains the ability Delta Stream via, let's say, a Mr. Mime using Role Play? Champion Averie, signing off!
