Forretress (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Forretress is based on a {{wp|bagworm}}, possibly one inhabiting a discarded shell of a {{wp|Aesculus|horse chestnut}} or a {{wp|walnut}}, though it resultingly resembles {{wp|bivalve}}s such as {{wp|giant clam}}s, as they share a two-half shell structure. Before ''{{g|Scarlet and Violet}}'' showed it can levitate, Forretress's primary means of locomotion was hopping, which is similar to the {{wp|Mexican jumping bean}}, a nut pod which appears to jump because it contains a writhing bug larva. Following {{p|Pineco}}'s {{wp|weaponry}} theme, Forretress seems be based on {{wp|gun turret}}s, {{wp|bomb}}s, {{wp|cannon}}s and {{wp|cannonballs}}, and {{wp|fortress}}es. The tube-shaped cannons around it resemble the siphons in {{wp|siphon (insect anatomy)|insects}} and {{wp|siphon (mollusc)|molluscs}}.
