There's nothing wrong with your game. In Platinum, Mareep, Natu, Xatu, Ursaring, and Forretress all got new color palettes. Chaos Rush 22:58, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Earthquake?

With Earthquake in its arsenal, Forretress is nearly unstoppable, being that Earthquake will take out the sole type to which it is weak: fire;-- add steel, rock, and poison types as bonuses. Thep0keman (talk) 03:04, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
First original Steel-type?

- I would say that this is the same situation as Jigglypuff and the first Fairy type Pokémon from the Kalos region. Name Origin
I always thought that the name had an aspect of ferrous--from the latin for iron or steel? That's where I figured the double r came from. Does anyone else see that, or is it just me?Harumei (talk) 13:13, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Iron-Oxide Concretion
Rather than a nut, does anyone else think that Forretress could pull inspiration from iron-oxide concretions? This may explain why Brock has one in the anime.
While iron-oxide concretions come in many, often bizarre shapes (some even have "nozzles," though this aspect may pull more from giant clams), they can also be round and are often confused for fossil nuts or shells. They're formed in layers, much like Forretress' shell is composed of compressed layers of bark and, like Forretress' red or yellow (if Shiny) core, can contain soft red or yellow minerals like hematite and limonite.
(Also, didn't the origin section include Forretress' connection to gunpowder caltrops before? Or was that ever only included on Pineco's page?) Icycatelf (talk) 14:52, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
