:: Yes, but the Venipede look alot like the Ohmu from Nausicaä. Other similarities are: flocks of Venipede invade the city when nature is in danger, Ash befriends a Venipede (like the baby Ohmu), which makes the other Venipede gain his trust, violence vs. understanding. ::: But Castelia isn't the cause for the disturbance, there's no flying machines, no poisonous spores and Nausicaa didn't befriend the Ohmu that then helped out, the baby Ohmu was being used as a homing beacon as a form of wiping them out by the female general and by saving it Nausicaa stopped them from destroying everything. Some is similar, some is different but just because Ohmu and Venipede have the same exoskeleton design doesn't mean that it's a direct reference. Of course, others can agree with you but right now no-one supports your claim and it's only seen as a build up to the Banned Plasma episodes.
