:: Yes, but the Venipede look alot like the Ohmu from Nausicaä. Other similarities are: flocks of Venipede invade the city when nature is in danger, Ash befriends a Venipede (like the baby Ohmu), which makes the other Venipede gain his trust, violence vs. understanding.
