The only card articles that get combined are reprints or near-reprints. A wiki is constantly expanding. Why contract it? That'd be like saying "Screw Jupiter's moons, all can go under Jupiter". There are only so many TCG articles because there are so many cards. One could say the same about there being too many articles on Ash's Pokémon, too many articles on anime episodes. How often did we see Primeape, and how much is it seen anymore? Four episodes, ten years ago. Notable? You bet your ass it is. Individual cards get individual articles, just like individual Pokémon do. Especially since a card named Pikachu has been printed in nearly every set.

:You don't need to worry. Nobody can edit the User namespace except admins right now. It started as an experiment to see if it'd take a load off the server and encourage more edits to the main namespace, and now that it's worked fairly well, they're continuing it until they can figure out what to do to prevent people from editing their userpages too much in the future.
