Vine Whip (Japanese: つるのムチ Vine Whip) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation IIII

Vine Whip inflicts damage, has no secondary effect, and has 10 PP.

Generation IV

The PP of Vine Whip increases to 15. All other effects are the same.

In the anime

Pokémon

Bulbasaur. Two vines come out of Bulbasaur's bulb and hit the opponent.

Venusaur. Several vines come out from under the leaves on its back and hit the opponent.

Ivysaur. Two vines come out of Ivysaur's bulb and hits the opponent.

Victreebel. It uses its single vine to strike or ensnare the opponent, or it can get two more green ones that come out from in between its body and its leaves.

Chikorita. Two green vines come from its bud necklace and hit the opponent.

Sudowoodo. Two green vines come out from Sudowoodo's hands. (Used via Mimic).

Bellsprout. Two green vines come out from in between its leaves and body and strike the opponent.

Bayleef. Two dark green vines come from the plants on its neck and strike the opponent.

Tangela. Tangela hits the opponent with two blue vines from its body.

Meganium. To green vines come from the plants on its neck and strike the opponent.

Carnivine. Two green vines come out of its neck to strike its opponent.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Vine Whip is Ivysaur's Special Up move.
