Why was this at least once called Foento City? --Netto-kun 09:51, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure, but apparently Foento City was the Japanese name, but they decided not to give an American name to this one. ~Kumori Satosuke 1:13:45, 26 October 2007 (EST)
Actually, in the Japanese version it's also just "Pokémon League." That's why this "Foento City" business is so strange--was that name completely fictional?--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 13:11, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Seriously? Where did this Foento City name come from? Satosuke 20:10, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Glitch Found...

It happened in a double battle (not the ones in Gen III) in Pokémon Platinum...explain...after battle, someone says in defeat random letters that are separated by spaces... ht14 00:41, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

So you're not the only one it's happened to. I battled him, a Black Belt if I remember correctly, about a month ago and saw that. I didn't think it was worth mentioning. I don't know where it would go if it's important enough to mention, which it probably isn't. R.A. Hunter Blade 00:46, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm not too sure if it's notable, however, if one wants to, can add it soon enough with more users...it IS a Black Belt... ht14 22:10, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
I don't think it's important enough. Otherwise I woulda added it a while ago. R.A. Hunter Blade 22:13, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Might warrant a mention in the trivia section. The Dark Fiddler - You enter a poorly lit room... 23:07, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Ehhhhh.... Ht14 would need to do it. I haven't seen it recently enough to describe it well. R.A. Hunter Blade 23:36, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Barry fight?

I just fought Barry here in Diamond, and his Heracross knew Rock Slide. According to this page, Barry's Heracross only knows Rock Slide in Platinum. Can someone explain this to me? Lyzz 02:25, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Party templates and E4 rooms

Don't there need to be party templates for the Elite Four and Champion, as well as pics of their rooms? I'll be glad to do both, copying the templates from each of the E4's individual pages, as soon as someone points out why they should be and why they haven't been added yet. Note however that I won't be able to upload pics of their rooms in Platinum. Haxorus 07:22, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Yes, that certainly should be there. No idea how it's evaded the party lists for so long. --SnorlaxMonster 08:56, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
Very well then. For now, I'll first prepare the party lists and add a description of the interior of the League. Hopefully it'll be better after that. Haxorus 01:54, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
I think now I know why the E4 party templates weren't included. I'd gotten as far as Cynthia's D/P template when I was told the template include size was too large, and thus some templates wouldn't be formed. And true enough, when I previewed, the members of Barry's Piplup party had spilled out all over the page (if you get what I mean), and several other things. So it appears it may be a matter of the page's inability to take the template load, rather than editors having not taken action on the page... In any case, I've managed to save what I'd done up to this point in Notepad, in case this problem is combated in time to come. Haxorus 03:18, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
On another thought, would it be all right if the rematch templates in Platinum were left out? We could say something like, "Initial battle". Haxorus 04:30, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
That's probably a result of templates in templates. For now, leave out the rematch templates and I'll see if I can expand some templates in templates to lower the number of templates on the page. --SnorlaxMonster 10:53, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Name trivia

There is not source of the official name but as the white flowers on the island suggest that it could be "Lily of the Valley island" like in the anime. Should this added to the trivia as a possibility? Ariano 09:23, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

No, that's not really good reasoning. --SnorlaxMonster 13:55, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Waterfall

Erm.. where should I start... OK, we do not need waterfall to access the pokemon league.Once you reach there the game has recorded that you have been to the pokemon league at have went inside the building. You can just use Fly and fly to the pokemon league, and you will be at the building. Glitch? Ips3ds (talk) 13:29, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

I remember that Ever Grande City was smarter than that and you couldn't Fly there until you had been up the waterfall. I thought it applied for this too. --SnorlaxMonster 14:49, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
You need Waterfall to get through Victory Road though so it is not possible to get to the League without Waterfall. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 15:27, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Oh yep sorry forgot about thatIps3ds (talk) 00:29, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Added

I added some trivia that I thought about while daydreaming, and it appeared beneath all the links and Project name. I do not know how to fix this, so would someone mind doing that, or at least tell me how? Thanks.

Also, how do you add you add the little blue square bulletpoints? - unsigned comment from Lithos141 (talkcontribs)

Move

Rather than the parenthetical disambiguation that's used in this article's title (and those of the Unova, Kalos and Alola Pokémon Leagues), I think that we should instead have the region name appear before Pokémon League (i.e., move the article to Sinnoh Pokémon League). This would be more in line with how we treat other locations that have different versions in different regions (such as Safari Zones and routes), as well as match the naming convention used in the Super Smash Bros. series (which features the Unova Pokémon League and the Kalos Pokémon League). — ⚫︎ Pale Prism ⬟ [ TalkContribs ] 02:35, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

I think the current format is better, personally. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:14, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
Is there any particular reason why? Do you think that we should change the Safari Zone and route article names to match the Pokémon League ones instead? — ⚫︎ Pale Prism ⬟ [ TalkContribs ] 19:08, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
I'd also like to add that the naming convention that I'm proposing is used in the core series as well; after the player becomes Champion of Alola, Kukui says the following:
[Player]! First-ever Champion of the Alola Pokémon League! It's time we record you and your beloved team's achievement for eternity!
With this in mind, I definitely think that this is a better naming convention for us to use. — ⚫︎ Pale Prism ⬟ [ TalkContribs ] 16:31, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
That makes sense. I support the move for now, but I'm definitely willing to hear other arguments. Landfish7 20:25, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
It appears that this is pretty much agreed upon. (There are no decent counterarguments.)
I'll be moving the relevant articles soon enough. — ⚫︎ Pale Prism ⬟ [ TalkContribs ] 01:22, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
You're still supposed to have staff/EB approval before moving a page (unless it's just to fix a typo or something) Landfish7 01:33, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, well, unless someone wants to revert my edits, I'm taking this as a thumbs up. Either the higher-ups think that this is appropriate (in which case, they'll do nothing), or they don't (in which case, talk to me about it!). — ⚫︎ Pale Prism ⬟ [ TalkContribs ] 01:41, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, no. Do not do as you please. The Alola league may be named that way, but the other leagues probably isn't. We name these locations as they are called in the games. And, in this case, Sinnoh's Pokemon League was just named Pokemon League in the games.--ForceFire 07:42, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
And then we don't name routes or Safari Zones as they are called in the game. (And locations aren't called "Pokémon League (Sinnoh)" in-game either.) I can definitely see Pale Prism's case, especially if that naming scheme is used (even somewhat consistently). (Still echoing the "Do not do as you please" part though.) Nescientist (talk) 09:01, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
I could see the Safari Zone pages being moved to match the way the Pokémon League articles. IMO, that seems like a better option than moving the League pages. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:15, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
Return to "Pokémon League (Sinnoh)" page.
