:The issue isn't that we suspect it works differently somehow; it's that nobody has analyzed the capture routine in the code for the sixth-generation games, so we can't actually know how it works the way we do for the previous games. It's quite likely that it works exactly as you suggest, with the same method as gen V except with four shake checks, but probabilistic formulas are essentially impossible to figure out reliably by experimentation. That said, it could be useful to gather a lot of data just to see if the probabilities seem to match up with what we'd expect if it's gen V with four shake checks.
