Ralts (Japanese: ラルトス Ralts) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves into Kirlia at level 20; which may evolve into Gardevoir at level 30, or Gallade using a Dawn Stone (exclusive to males).
Biology
Physiology
Ralts has a white body. Its legs give it the appearance of wearing a dress. Ralts has a green "helmet" that has a red horn on the front and one on the back. A Ralts's eyes are normally covered by its "helmet", but a view from the proper angle will reveal a pair of melancholy eyes that look similar to the ones its evolved forms and Roserade have. Despite the fact that Ralts and its evolutions resemble humans, they somehow bear a closer relationship to Template:Type2 Pokémon than with other humanoid Pokémon such as Mime Jr.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Ralts can sense the emotions of Pokémon and people. The abilities that Ralts has in battle are similar to what most Template:Type2 Pokémon would have. Ralts is one of the few Pokémon that can learn Magical Leaf.
Behavior
Ralts is a timid Pokémon that will hide if it senses hostility.
Habitat
Ralts tend to keep away from humans, considering that they don't usually like being around negative feelings.
Diet

In the anime
Ralts debuted in the anime in the episode Do I Hear a Ralts?. Max found one that was very sick and decided to prove his abilities by taking responsibility for it. With the help of Ash's Snorunt, he rushed it to the nearest Pokémon Center. He later promised to return for Ralts when he is eligible to be a Trainer.
A Ralts was living with some party-loving psychic Pokémon in an abandoned mining town in Fear Factor Phony.
Pokédex entries
- AG109: "Ralts. The Feeling Pokémon. Ralts is the pre-evolved form of Kirlia. It can use the horns on its head to read human emotions. Ralts rarely shows itself to humans but may occasionally approach when it senses positive or happy feelings."
In the manga

- Ruby owns a Ralts nicknamed Ruru. However, for most of the Ruby and Sapphire saga, Ruru is with Wally.

Trivia
- The horn behind Ralts's head in Generation III was once smaller, compared to the Generation IV Ralts's horn that is of equal height to its front horn.
- Ralts's number in the Sinnoh Dex (Platinum only) and the Almia Browser is the same: 157. This makes it and its evolution family one of only five families of Pokémon (comprising thirteen Pokémon altogether) to have the same numbers in more than one Pokédex-like listing.
- Ralts's evolution family is one of only three evolution families to have a branch evolution in the second evolutionary event, and the only one whose base level was not introduced in Generation I.
Origin
Ralts's appearance seems to be based slightly on that of a young child, following the thought that young children can sense feelings easier and more thoroughly than adults.
Name origin
Ralts's name may be a play on the word waltz, a type of dance; the entire Gardevoir evolutionary family appears to have several similarities to dancers.
