Behavior
Mightyena tend to have a very loyal nature. If they recognize that their Trainer is very experienced, they will obey orders without question. Mightyena live in packs led by a dominant Alpha Male and his mate. These wolf-like Pokémon use a number of vocal sounds to communicate with each other over a distance. When a scout sights prey, it alerts the pack with a loud howl. The pack divides into two groups for the hunt, one chasing the prey to a specific point, and the other jumping out in an ambush.

Trivia
- Mightyena is one of only five pure Dark-types, in addition to that it's one of the two that is fully-evolved (not counting Pokémon that do not evolve, such as Darkrai). The other is Umbreon.
Origin
It shares some similarities with both canines and hyenas.
Name origin
Mightyena's name may be a portmanteau of might or mighty and hyena. Its Japanese name may be a combination of growl and hyena.
