(Japanese: ルシアス Lucius), also known as the (Japanese: いにしえの冒険者 Ancient Adventurer), is a recurring character in Pokémon Horizons: The Series. He is the main reason Roy wanted to become a Trainer, and the truth behind his legend serves as one of his motivations.
History
The Ancient Adventurer was first mentioned by Roy when describing his feats to Liko in HZ004. According to him, the Ancient Adventurer traveled through different regions and captured several Legendary Pokémon and treasures around the world.
He briefly appeared in a fantasy in HZ006 when Roy told his grandfather about his dreams.
In HZ012, just after the Rising Volt Tacklers helped restore a forest that had been destroyed by a wildfire, the Pokémon in Liko's pendant came to life. With Arboliva's assistance, the Pokémon showed Liko and Roy a vision of the past where Lucius asked Arboliva to look for something. Later, Liko and Roy read a book by Liko's father that told the history of Lucius's adventures, based on stories told by Liko's grandmother Diana.
Pokémon
A hundred years ago, Lucius traveled with the black Rayquaza and five Pokémon he encountered throughout the various regions he traveled. Collectively, they are known as the (Japanese: 六英雄 Six Heroes). In an as-yet-unexplained way, Lucius's Poké Balls have been scattered around the world.

Escaped
Years ago, Roy's grandfather found a mysterious Poké Ball on the beach of his hometown. Many years later, he gave this item to his grandson. Unbeknownst to him, the mysterious Poké Ball contained a Black Rayquaza inside of it. In HZ006, Liko's pendant caused Rayquaza to emerge from its Poké Ball and, after a brief battle with those present on the island, disappeared into the sky.
In HZ012, it was revealed that Rayquaza was Lucius's main Pokémon and that about a hundred years ago, it traveled the world with him and found five other Pokémon that became his allies in the search for the promised paradise. Rayquaza's only known move is Draco Meteor.

Arboliva made its debut as a guardian of a forest that Liko, Roy, and Mollie visited. Around its neck was the same kind of Poké Balls that had contained the Black Rayquaza that Roy was looking for. In HZ012, Arboliva helped Liko and Roy restore the forest. After completely healing the forest, Arboliva returned to its Poké Ball and decided to be under the care of Liko and Roy.
It was later revealed that Arboliva was one of Lucius's Pokemon that was responsible for "dressing wounds". None of Arboliva's moves are known and its Ability is Seed Sower.

Status unknown
In ancient times, Lucius traveled with six Pokémon, referred to as the "Six Heroes", including Rayquaza and Arboliva. They all worked together towards a single goal, and each of them had a specific purpose, such as galloping across the land, breaking walls, flying through the skies, and crossing the seas.
At the end of their adventures, these Pokémon found the promised paradise. At some point after these adventures, these Pokémon scattered across the world.
