Hi there! I'm Blazingfist! Or Blaze, Blazey, Neo Blaze, whatever you prefer. My username comes from the move Fire Punch, but also refers a bit to my absolute favorite Pokémon, Blaziken. My real name is Thomas and I live in The Netherlands. I'm 22 years old. I'm a huge fan of the anime and the games.
I've been active on Bulbapedia for almost 3 years now (+ 1/2 year if you count my first account Tomazzo (December 2007 - May 2008). In that time, I have cleared up a lot of old pages that needed a sufficient clean-up (such as Kanto and Johto CotD articles), added missing info and created new pages that were needed. I hope to be able Bulbapedia as much as I can even more so in the future.
In March 2014 I became a Junior Administrator. In April 2015 I was promoted to Administrator. Don't hesitate to ask me Bulbapedia-related questions, I'm happy to help everyone. You can also contact me on the forums. On the forums I'm currently a Super Moderator known as Neo Blaze. I'm mainly active in the Anime section, which is the section I originally became a Moderator in.
So, me and Pokémon... The first time I came into contact with Pokémon was through the anime. The very first episode I ever saw was The Bridge Bike Gang when I was about six or seven years old. From then on I watched Pokémon every morning in the weekends and saw most of the Original series. Around the time of the Advanced Generation series I didn't watch the series anymore. Other things got my interest, like the games. When Best Wishes started, I started watching the series extensively again and I saw every Best Wishes episode and currently keep up with the XY anime. My favorite Pokémon movie is Spell of the Unown. Outside of Pokémon, I'm a huge science fiction enthousiast, mainly in movies.
Even though I followed the series from very early on, I started playing the games some time later. I never had a Game Boy, which really frustrated me to no end. On my tenth birthday, I got a GameCube and I bought Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness after that. It was my very first Pokémon game and I loved it to death. Years later, I bought a Nintendo DS Lite with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. After that, I bought Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold, Black and Black 2. And I also bought an old Ruby cartridge. Recently, I obtained a copy of Pokémon Colosseum, which I always wanted to try out after playing XD. I also bought a 3DS, with Y and Omega Ruby.
I have good memories of the TCG. I never played the game itself, but I always traded the cards at school with friends. I still have a book full of old TCG cards.
I consider Shiny hunting to be a hobby. Click [show] to see the Shinies I own, 454 in total. All are currently in my Omega Ruby copy. During my time playing Pokémon, I have caught 21 Shinies that I encountered completely random, without hunting for them or using a cheating device or RNG'ing. I still have all of them to this day. These are Oddish in Ruby, Tangela in HeartGold, Cresselia in Black 2, Wingull, Cubchoo, Yanma and Scraggy in Y, and Marill, three Shuppet, four Whismur, four Zigzagooon, Wailmer and Spinda in Omega Ruby. All of my other Shinies have been obtained mostly through trading and through giveaways, although some were programmed into the game (like Gyarados), and some I hunt for with chain fishing and GTS hunting. I'm opposed to hacked Shinies and try to have as little hacked ones as possible (save for a Gyarados and a Dragonite I hacked myself a long time ago which I have grown attached to), but I don't oppose cloned Shinies.
