Just Add Water (Japanese: リュウグウジム！みずのなかでバトルだぜ！ Ryūgū Gym! Battle in the Water!) is the 256th episode of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on July 11, 2002 and in the United States on July 12, 2003.
Synopsis

On the road back to New Bark Town, Ash and friends stop for a rest near the ocean. There they spot a sign advertising a synchronized Pokémon swimming event. Close behind is Team Rocket, who quickly hatch a plan to steal all of the Pokémon from the swimming show...

- This episode was the last to air before the Japanese debut of Pokémon Heroes.
- Misty claimed in this episode that she never battled under water before. However she did do so in The Misty Mermaid against Team Rocket and in The Spell of the Unown against Molly Hale (although some claim the movies are non-canon; this doesn't explain the episode, though).
- This episode marks the first time a main character other than Ash challenges a Gym Leader of any sort, as Misty challenges Dorian in this episode. The second main character to do this is Dawn; although, unlike Misty, Dawn challenges an official Gym Leader.
- It also marks the first (and so far, only) time a main character other than Ash doesn't lose against a gym leader in battle (as Dawn, when she challenged Maylene, lost against her in battle). However, if one takes Ash's draw against Maylene as a "win" (since she did reward him with a badge despite not winning), it can be argued that Misty technically won.
- In this episode, Team Rocket uses a variation of their motto.
- This is one of the few times that Misty and Psyduck show affection for one another - Misty saves Psyduck from Team Rocket's mecha, and Psyduck willingly challenges Team Rocket after they kidnap Misty.
Errors
- When Misty throws her Poké Balls to let out her Pokémon, only three balls are seen and four Pokémon came out.
- After Misty says "That was great Goldeen, take a long rest", Goldeen's Poké Ball turns into a Lure Ball for a split second. The next Pokémon she uses is Corsola.
