Flavor text
Generation IX
When the Pokémon enters a battle, it goes inside the mouth of an ally Dondozo if one is on the field. The Pokémon then issues commands from there.

Commander (Japanese: しれいとう Commander) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Tatsugiri.

Effect

In battle

While Tatsugiri is inside Dondozo's mouth, the latter will be unable to switch out but will have its Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed raised by two stages each. The Trainer will not be able to select moves for Tatsugiri, and any opponent's moves will miss if Tatsugiri is targeted. When Dondozo faints, Tatsugiri returns to its normal position in battle.

Commander does not activate in Tera Raid Battles.

Role Play, Skill Swap, and Entrainment fail if either Pokémon has Commander. Commander cannot be copied by Trace, Power of Alchemy, or Receiver. Commander cannot be replaced by Mummy or Lingering Aroma or traded by Wandering Spirit.

Outside of battle

Commander has no effect outside of battle.
