Celestic Town (Japanese: カンナギタウン Kannagi Town) is a town in the region of Sinnoh. It is a tiny town that preserves the history of Sinnoh and the old ways of life, the center of town has a small shrine that dates back to ancient times. It is the smallest town in the entire region. It is also one of the oldest, and some say the town was there since Sinnoh came to be created. There's no Pokémon Mart in the city, so a pair of old people run a shop out of their house. Celestic Town is the hometown of Cynthia, and her grandmother, grandfather, and little sister still live there. The only thing of real interest in the town are etchings inside a cave telling the legend of the Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie.

Later in the game, players can come here to see a picture of the version mascot of the counterpart version (Palkia for Diamond and Dialga for Pearl) to add it to their Pokédex.

The population of Celestic Town is 13.

While the group are yet to reach Celestic Town, a newsflash in Top-Down Training reported that the Lustrous Orb had been discovered nearby. On seeing the news, Cynthia decided to visit the town.

Trivia

Celestic's Japanese town motto is むかしを つたえる まち.

Celestic Town's music is the same as Eterna City's, which is a neighbouring town of Celestic.

Name origin

Celestic appears to derive its name from the word celestial, referring to the heavenly and supernatural. As its residents seem to know the mythology of the Sinnoh region best, this is appropriate. Its Japanese name is derived from 巫 kannagi, meaning "medium" or "shrine maiden."
