In the first Pokémon clip show, the group are still on the boat looking towards the Grand Festival. Ash remembers all of his Hoenn Gym battles (except the ones for the Dynamo Badge and the Heat Badge) and then May remembers all of her Contest Battles.

- This is the first clip show in the history of the Pokémon anime.
- This is the first episode since the very first one that Jessie, James, and Meowth did not appear in, and the only one during the Advanced Generation series.
