Caterpie (Japanese: キャタピー Caterpie, German: Raupy, French: Chenipan) is a Bug-type Pokémon.
Caterpie comes with the Ability Shield Dust.
Caterpie evolves via level, into Metapod starting at Level 6, then into Butterfree starting at Level 10.

- It is covered with a green skin. When it grows, it sheds the skin, covers itself with silk, and becomes a cocoon.

Caterpie's name is a corruption of caterpillar.
It seems to be nothing more than a caterpillar itself.
