The Terarium, also referred to as the Terarium Dome (Japanese: テラリウムドーム Terarium Dome), is a facility of Blueberry Academy which sustains a variety of artificial biomes for Pokémon.
In the games
A world-renowned undersea facility constructed as a supportive learning environment for strong Trainers, the Terarium is divided into four areas: a Savanna Biome, a Coastal Biome, a Canyon Biome, and a Polar Biome. Each biome has different climates, ecosystems, and wild Pokémon, even including foreign regional form Pokémon such as Alolan Exeggutor, Galarian Slowpoke, Hisuian Qwilfish, and first partner Pokémon. The temperature of each area is also carefully regulated. The facility is enclosed within an artificial sky dome that changes to simulate the weather and time of day.[1] In the center of the facility, is Central Plaza, a lobby area for students to take breaks between classes, as well as an easy way to travel from biome to biome.
The Terarium is located at the deepest end of the school, taking place beneath the school's classrooms and dorms, which are also underwater. Each biome contains small classrooms as well, allowing for students to learn within the biomes and environments that the Terarium provides. There is also multiple biome centered plazas, one for each of the Elite Four member. Each plaza, including Central Plaza, includes a battle field used for battling other students and Elite Four Members. Each of the Elite Four members have their trial in their respective themed biomes. Smaller healing stations and shelters are also seen throughout the Terarium, allowing the students and Trainers to take rest and recover.
The Terarium Core that hangs from the roof of the Terarium is filled with a mixture of Paldean soil and water from the Crystal Pool in Kitakami, which is what stabilizes the Terastal phenomenon at Blueberry Academy. After the events of The Indigo Disk, crystals from the Area Zero underdepths are added to the mixture which allows wild Pokémon to Terastallize into the Stellar type. The Terarium core is designed and maintained by Briar.
Throughout the Terarium, the player can complete Blueberry Quests to earn BP, these quests can range from numerous objectives, such as taking pictures, catching or defeating of certain Pokémon in specific ways; collecting items, or making TMs. Several block-like formations taking the form of shelters, bridges, platforms and other formations are spread out through the Terarium. These blocks are said to give off infrared and ultraviolet rays, which apparently help Pokémon and plants grow. As a part of group quests, various Ditto Blocks[2] can be found in these formations, where Ditto will seemingly transform into one of these large cubes with rounded edges. Despite being milestones for the player to obtain, and not actually obtainable themselves, they can still be Shiny.[3]
When in the Terarium, the player can talk to Synclaire in order to access the Synchro Machine, a device created by her which allows them to see the world through the eyes of their Pokémon.
Due to being located in Unova, Pokémon with regional forms cannot produce offspring that are regional forms themselves without the use of an Everstone and any Pokémon who evolves into another Pokémon with a regional form (such as Exeggcute or Pikachu) cannot evolve into said regional forms, even if the biome has an environment set for them.

Trivia
- Despite being located in the Unova region, any Pokémon caught there will be displayed as being met in the Paldea region in Pokémon HOME. The same is also true for Kitakami, which is not part of Paldea.
- The music that plays within the biomes and plazas of the Terarium, feature music from the soundtrack of Pokémon Black and White Versions:
- The music that played in Route 6 and Route 4 are featured in all variants of the Terarium theme. This is reflected in the Pokémon Scarlet - Violet + The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Super Music Collection, where Junichi Masuda, and Shota Kageyama who contributed to the Route 4, and Route 6 themes respectively, are credited for all the Terarium Biome and Plaza themes as composers.
- The music that plays in the Savanna and Canyon biomes, as well as the any of the plazas within the Terarium, features the Route 2 theme from Pokémon Black and White. This is reflected in the Super Music Collection, where Hitomi Satō, who is the original composer and arranger of the Route 2 theme, is credited for the Savanna Biome, Canyon Biome, and Plaza themes as a composer.
- In the Coastal Biome, the Route 2 theme's feature is replaced with a feature of Driftveil City's theme. This is reflected in the Super Music Collection], where Hitomi Sato, who is the original composer and arranger of the Driftveil City theme, is credited for the Coastal Biome theme as a composer.
- This is likely a stylistic choice, to reflect Lacey, the Blueberry Academy League Elite Four Member who is situated in the Coastal Biome, being the daughter of Driftveil City's Gym Leader, Clay.
- In the Polar Biome, the Route 2 theme's feature is replaced with a feature Opelucid City's theme.
- This is likely a stylistic choice, to reflect Drayton, the Blueberry Academy League Elite Four Member who is situated in the Polar Biome, being a relative of Opelucid City's Gym Leader, Drayden.
- Additionally, the wild Pokémon battle and Trainer battle themes are arrangements of the respective themes from Pokémon Black and White.
- The music that plays during a battle with a Terastallized Pokémon, is an arrangement of the rare wild Pokémon battle theme from Pokémon Black and White.
