GeekChicShipping (Japanese: シトセレ CitSere) is the belief that Clemont and Serena belong in a romantic relationship. It is named after the geek chic fashion trend, and reflects their personalities: Clemont is geeky, and Serena is chic.

The fan following for this ship is moderate at best, but shows early signs of rising popularity. One noted contributor to the growing support for this ship is that it offers fans an alternative to Template:S, which may not appeal to all and conflicts with many other popular ships involving Ash. Additionally, some fans see GeekChicShipping as a more interesting potential direction for Serena's character arc, rather than if her established crush smoothly progressed into a relationship.

Anime evidence

While there is a lack of substantial evidence suggesting a romantic attraction, their dynamics are typically very positive. Clemont is shown to enjoy opportunities to explain new things to Serena, and despite her canon crush on Ash, Serena still shows plenty of kindness and concern towards Clemont.

Clemont's hints

Upon meeting Serena, Clemont's father, Meyer, teases him about having met such a cute girl, suggesting that he sees more than friendship between them. Embarrassed, Clemont awkwardly replies that it's not like that.
Despite Clemont claiming he can't trust "what is not scientifically proven", he's visibly chilled by Serena's un-scientific theories. This can be taken to mean that he believes what she says, even when her superstitions are at odds with his better judgment.
When Serena dresses up in her Fennekin cosplay, Clemont is thrilled to see her. He smiles so hard that his glasses slip halfway down his face.

When Clemont compliments her Rhyhorn racing skills, she blushes, flattered.
