Smoochum may be based on ガン黒 ganguro, blonde-haired, tanned Japanese girls.
Name origin
Smoochum's name is based on smooch, or kiss. It may also be a pun on smooch 'em. Its Japanese name is based on ちゅう chu, the sound of a kiss. The German name cames from the English word kiss and the French name is derived from the English word lip.
