:::::::::Your logic is completely screwed up here. On Bulbapedia we use either Trademarked Spellings, Meaning-based transliterations (for English-Japanese word) or Hepburn Romanization. Meaning-based transliteration means the reflection of the English spelling of the word. There is no é in "Competition", hence "Compe". Pokémon and Poké- is just an unitary, exceptional and TRADEMARKED instance when we use "é". Other than that, we use the three types of transliteration that I mentioned. "Compé" is neither of them. We're not a pronounciation guide. Your logic that "Kotone is a Japanese word" DOESN'T WORK HERE. Kotone or Takeshi is even more likely to be misread. The connection between Compe and Competition is much more obvious, I caught it immediately. Really, we're not a Japanese learning site. If someone knows Japanese, he'll know how to pronounce that. There's no reason to write an "é" in that word 'cause we'd have to put that "é" into dozens of different names. We don't have a reason to.
