Zygarde Core
A Zygarde Core (Japanese: ジガルデ・コア Zygarde Core) is a cell-like component of Zygarde with its own will. On their own, they have little power, but by gathering Cells, they can create Zygarde's different forms. They appear similar to their cells, having a flat, green, worm-like body with a bulbous head. They have a hexagon on their belly and back, while primarily red in color, they can also appear in blue and green.
10% Forme Zygarde contains a single Core, which only allows it to function for a short time.[1] Complete Forme Zygarde contains five Cores with each of its wings and tail having their own Core that can act independently.[2]
In the core series games
Zygarde Cores are stored in a Zygarde Cube and allow the Zygarde Cube to teach Zygarde moves.
In Pokémon Sun and Moon, five Zygarde Cores can be found around the Alola region, with each one unlocking a specific move, as seen below. Each Zygarde Core is found either an island kahuna's home, or the player's room. Outside of unlocking moves, Zygarde Cores act the same as Zygarde Cells, and will be counted towards the count of 100.
In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, all five moves are already unlocked upon receiving the Zygarde Cube from Dexio.
In all games in which they appear, Zygarde Cores appear during the transformation sequence into Zygarde's Complete Forme when Power Construct activates.
Below is a list of locations in which Cores appear in Sun and Moon.
