Wind Rider (Ability)

Wind Rider (Japanese: かぜのり Wind Riding) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX.

Flavor text Generation IX Boosts the Pokémon's Attack stat if Tailwind takes effect or if the Pokémon is hit by a wind move. The Pokémon also takes no damage from wind moves.

Effect

In battle

Pokémon with Wind Rider are immune to damage from wind moves, and their Attack is increased by one stage when hit by one.

When Tailwind takes effect on its side or when the Pokémon with Wind Rider is sent into battle while Tailwind is in effect on its side, its Attack is increased by one stage in addition to receiving the speed-boosting effect of Tailwind.

Despite being classified as a wind move, Sandstorm, due to the move targeting the field, is the only one that does not interact with Wind Rider at all.
