Wild zone
Wild zones (Japanese: ワイルドゾーン wild zone) are fenced-off areas scattered across Lumiose City, constructed as natural habitats for wild Pokémon to live and roam. They were introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

History
Three years after the events of Pokémon X and Y, many wild Pokémon began arriving in Lumiose City, drawn by the Mega Power emanating from Ange within the Prism Tower. As a result, wild zones were created as part of the city's urban redevelopment plan, driven by Quasartico Inc. This initiative aimed to create a harmonious environment for both people and Pokémon. However, there was also a secret, less publicized reason for the wild zones: they were designed to prevent any potential Rogue Mega Evolved Pokémon from rampaging in the city, thereby keeping them from escaping to the wild. The establishment of these wild zones led to the discontinuation of the Gogoat Shuttle service, as Gogoat became skittish because of outbreaks of wild Pokémon. Each wild zone is enclosed by green holographic fences, with large numbered gates serving as entrances.
However, not everyone agrees with the implementation of wild zones. Critics like Ivor and Mable argue that there are risks for both humans and Pokémon. Some wild zones are located in residential areas, putting residents at risk. Additionally, Pokémon may face challenges in adapting to these new environments, which can lead to stress and aggressive behavior. Despite these concerns, both humans and Pokémon have managed to find a way to coexist during the events of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
