Release information

This card was included in the Evolving Skies expansion with artwork by 5ban Graphics, first released in the Japanese Eevee Heroes VMAX Special Set. It was reprinted as a Full Art SWSH Black Star Promo with artwork by Atsushi Furusawa and was available in the Vaporeon VMAX Premium Collection from December 3, 2021. This product also included a Jumbo version of the Full Art print. In Japan, the Full Art print was released as a S-P Promotional card and was one in a set of three Eeveelution VMAX cards available through the Summer Pokémon Card Campaign.

The Japanese card set was first awarded to the winner of the invitation-only Summer Pokémon Card 1st Battle, which took place on July 9, 2021 and consisted of eight players.[1] Matches in this tournament were Limited Format with four Prize cards, requiring players to construct a 40-card deck using the cards obtained from 15 Skyscraping Perfection booster packs or 15 Blue Sky Stream booster packs. Additional Energy cards and one copy of Hop were also available if required.[1] The tournament was livestreamed on video platforms Niconico and YouTube and offered prizes to those watching. Three key words were displayed over the course of the steam, which were the subject of a quiz held later in the broadcast. Viewers wishing to enter the competition were required to follow the Twitter accounts of hosts Ponyta Ishii, Raichu Umekawa, and Nanapple, all of whom appear on the official Pokémon Card Channel, and tweet an answer with the hashtag #夏ポケカ1stバトル, Summer Pokéca 1st Battle. Those with correct answers were entered into lotteries for two prize packages. One winner would receive the Special Art Promo Card Present, a set of the three Eeveelution VMAX cards, and two winners would receive an Expansion Pack Present, a booster box each of Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream.[1]

The Summer Pokémon Card Campaign began publicly on July 21, 2021 and ran until September 30.[2] During this time, people wishing to take part were required to play a match and complete an application form detailing the match format and type of deck used. Participants were required to have a Player ID, an email address, and a code for the they deck used, which could be obtained by building it in the Deck Construction section of the Pokémon Card Game Trainers Website. Only one entry per person would be accepted. All valid applicants were entered into a lottery to receive one of 3,000 sets of the three Eeveelution VMAX cards.[2] Winners began to receive their sets in October 2021. Three more sets of the cards were given away as part of the Champions League 2022 Fukuoka Winning Deck Prediction Campaign. People wishing to participate were required to select one of the thirty deck archetypes listed on a Google Forms survey that they predicted would be the winning Master League deck at the Fukuoka Champions League 2022 event. The event was held at Marine Messe Fukuoka on November 3, 2021; entries were accepted from October 22 up to the start of the final round of the Master League tournament. Correct entries were entered into a lottery for the three sets on offer. Winners were notified through Twitter by the end of November 2021.[3]

A further five sets of the cards were given away as part of a gift campaign commemorating the announcement of new presenters for the official Pokémon Card YouTube Channel. People wishing to take part in the campaign were required to follow the official Twitter account of the Pokémon Card Channel and the Twitter accounts of the two new presenters, Kucheat take and yopi foot, and Tweet messages of support with the hashtag #ポケカチャンネル新メンバー, Pokéca Channel New Member. Those doing so between June 12 and 17, 2022 were entered into a lottery for the five sets on offer. Winners were notified by the end of June 2022.[4]
