Welcome to Bulbapedia, Technickal!
Bulbapedia bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Moves/splits

I didn't notice at first, but it appears you informally split Eyecatch to Location preview, and it seems you also used SatoMew2's Location preview and Eyecatch user pages in doing so. It also looks like you largely took Red's Charizard from User:Hikaru Wazana/Red's Charizard.

On the one hand, if such user pages exist, instead of creating a new article and just copying the page code into it, the existing user page should be moved. (Since Eyecatch already exists, in that case it's probably okay to just copy the user page code into the existing page and save it.) When you do not do this, at the very least, you have effectively "orphaned" those user pages from their intended purpose, without anyone necessarily being the wiser.

On the other hand, splits and moves and such are generally left to staff. They are also meant to be something of a community decision, unless the issue is very cut and dried. At the very least, if you intend to take such a decision into your own hands, you should probably leave a comment on the talk page as to your intention (and then perhaps wait for a day or two) before taking action.

Do note that I am not a staff member. But I would ask you to at least heed my advice on moving existing pages instead of copying them to a new location. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 16:51, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

You're right. That was a bad idea. I'll use your suggestions next time. Technickal (talk) 17:18, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Eyecatch split

Hello there, I just noticed you splitted the eyecatch, and while I'm in favor of doing that (I seriously don't get how those two things are related), I believe moving pages are left to staff. This is because other users can only cut-paste the half that'll be split and create a new article (which you did for location preview), which means that all contributions from other users that were recorded in the history of the article are lost. I believe it's because of that, but I don't actually know if a staff member can fix that complex problem.

Well, in any case, while that's important, what I really wanted to say is that please be careful about the original article as well. As you can see in the Eyecatch history, I added new pictures and reorganized the whole anime section a week before you split the pages. However, you didn't catch up on that and deleted all those improvements while spliting the page. I edited the page again, but next time please check any new edits that you didn't copy from a page, before doing a massive change you've prepared beforehand. --Gabo 2oo (talk) 04:57, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you finding Ash's Frogadier's VA.--JasonL 02:55, 5 March 2015 (UTC)JasonL (Talk)

Voice Actor source

Please provide a source when adding voice actors. Going by ear is not a reliable source as you could be entirely wrong. Also, do not go by credits as they do not say who voiced who, just that they had a role in the episode. The only way to get a source, currently, is to ask them on social media.--ForceFire 14:45, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --ForceFire 04:48, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Let me remind you of the preview button in light of your recent activity. You made 6 consecutive edits to a talk page because you apparently weren't satisfied with your initial take(s), and you undid two of your own edits in a row to a template, one being very obviously broken. These are things that can very easily be avoided if you just use the preview button and take your time. Please try to keep it in mind in the future. Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 12:58, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

Response

Narrowing the Voice Actors down is still playing by ear. She had a role in that episode, yes, but she could've been one of Nini's Pokémon instead. If you don't get a response from a voice actor, then you just have to wait longer. I know it sounds tedious but that's just policy. On the subject of Japanese VAs, if the Japanse VA is not in the dub credits (though I'm not sure if they get mentioned at all, but I assume they do because of Pikachu), then the voice got dubbed over.--ForceFire 04:29, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Mainspacing articles

In the future, please leave the approval and moving of drafted articles from the User: namespace to the mainspace to the staff. Thank you. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 01:03, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

About the performed moves

Um, can give me the source of Volt being Jolt, Watt being Jules, and Ampere being A.C.? A Junior Administrator and Administrator may have accepted the move, but I saw no move discussion. It said that non-dubbed names can be moved to its English dubbed name if its name is dubbed in the English Dub. I am just asking you. Thank you! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 09:41, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

But it is preferred to wait for the episode to air. Actually, is that Youtube CC? Just asking. And, don't reply to my talk page. It is against my talk page rules. Its purpose is to keep the conversation in one place. Next time, discuss a move discussion first before moving. Thank you! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 01:57, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
No, it's closed-captioning on my TV and Cartoon Network's website. Technickal (talk) 11:18, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
I don't know if Cartoon Network can be a reliable source, but anyways, thanks! --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 12:51, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

I'm confused

Why did you remove what I said about Be a Hero being used in XY062? If it's notable that Mega V was used, I don't see why an instrumental version of Be a Hero is any less notable. I'm just confused, that's all. AGGRON989 15:32, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Moving pages

When moving pages, please remember to change all incoming links to go to the new page title. Thank you! --Abcboy (talk) 15:33, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Your Edits

Until the Editorial Board has made their intentions on it known, don't do their job for them. I asked one of them which way it's going, and they haven't posted anything yet AFAIK regarding it. This isn't like Wikipedia where 4 people for and 3 against means the majority way is law; it's done by the editorial board. Let them do their job, please. CycloneGU (talk) 21:59, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Just to update, the Editorial Board has decided on how to handle things if you are interested. CycloneGU (talk) 05:52, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

Once more re:preview button

It seems you're still not using the preview button reliably. I suspect in the cases where you've only made one edit to a page recently, you've just gotten "lucky", because in several other cases, you continue to make additional edits to correct simple errors you could easily have spotted with the preview button.

Please use the preview button. Thank you. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:42, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

(posted here) So I should use it every time? Technickal (talk) 17:43, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
Considering your habitual mistakes, I would say yes. It's usually quite quick, and it will allow you to spot your errors before saving the page, so it is well worth it.
On a side note, when someone posts on your talk page, please do not respond to that person on their talk page. You should make your response here, so that the entire conversation stays in one place. You don't need to worry about whether they'll see it or something, because most people will be responsible enough to look out for a response on your page. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:51, 23 May 2015 (UTC)
Well, again, use the preview button. You made three edits on Nicholai (09:23 for first and second, 09:26 for third). Those edits can be done in just one edit. Thanks. --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 02:06, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
I decided I'm going to stop editing for a while until I get this preview button thing down pat. Technickal (talk) 02:12, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
1. It's not that hard. Just click "Show Preview" instead of "Save Page".
2. By not editing, how can you get that procedure down? CycloneGU (talk) 02:37, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
All right then. I'm going to do that. Technickal (talk) 10:46, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Moving pages

Please do not make major moves without discussion. If you'd like to suggest a move, use the {{move}} template. More often than not, major moves will be discussed/decided by the Editorial Board. Thanks. --Pokemaster97 00:36, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Hidden information

If there's information that's been hidden on a page, there's probably a reason for it. It's wise to check the edit history, and if there's not a reason given there, to bring it up on the talk page. The Kalos Gym Leader PSS icons have questionable usage permission. glikglak 01:24, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

Sources

Please provide a link to the source or an image of the source, don't just say it. Anyone can say that they emailed Theresa, anyone can say that they contacted a VA over Facebook/Twitter. Show, don't tell.--ForceFire 03:24, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

Once more, provide a link or on image. Don't just say "It's confirmed", give us the link to the tweet/facebook post or the image to the email (and that goes for email from anybody, including Theresa). Again, show, don't tell.--ForceFire 03:46, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for the email. I'll undo my edit on Sawyer's page. I still want you to show your proof by linking tweets/screencapping emails, however.--ForceFire 15:21, 19 August 2015 (UTC)
Also, if you've e-mailed me the proof, please wait for my response to add the information in. This only go for the e-mails, links to tweets/facebook or images of e-mails are fine.--ForceFire 02:52, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

M17 cast

Since you've contacted Teresa, can you get the Movie 17 cast from her? The Great Butler (talk) 04:46, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Other Characters

Excuse me, Technickal, do you think you can get an e-mail confirm of Flabébé, Lapras, Heliolisk, and Goodra as well? - unsigned comment from JasonL (talkcontribs)

I'll do my best! Technickal (talk) 17:01, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Okay, thanks!--JasonL (Talk) 17:04, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

I already got Luxio and Wartortle. Technickal (talk) 11:55, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

That's great!--JasonL (Talk) 12:24, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

The image of the email

Please don't use that image as a source, as the person that took the image hid the email of the source. While, I get their intentions, it really hinders its legitimacy if the email of sender is hidden, since we don't know if the sender is actually who the user says it is.--ForceFire 04:42, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

Suggestion

Excuse me do you think that you should send a message to Tom Wayland to find out if he voiced Sliggoo or Goodra?--CoolPokéGuy (Talk) 13:33, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

He hasn't used his Twitter in ages, and Theresa Buchheister was unable to confirm Goodra's VA for me. So probably not. Technickal (talk) 16:03, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

We Will Meet Again

Eric Stuart stated that he did not perform We Will Meet Again. According to your edit summary, the iTunes Closed Captions say that he did. Could you double-check them (and potentially provide a screenshot)? --SnorlaxMonster 04:14, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
I double-checked it. That's what it says. Unfortunately I can't provide a screenshot because of iTunes' copy protection. Technickal (talk) 11:36, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
