First non-Bug-type rookie evolution
I'd like to point out something. Yes it's the very first evolution of a rookie trainer that wasn't a Bug-type. But Ash did do most of the raising. =P And another factor could be that a traded Pokémon's Exp. points are boosted to twice their normal rate. You're better off waiting until Sinnoh Battle Frontier for a Chikorita egg. We're close to the end of the Sinnoh League so... yeah. The only reason I can think of for releasing Ambipom is more room for a Charmander and a Chikorita egg. --Alpha TotodileListen closely... 10:52, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Nice Prediction
Wow you wanted Dawn to get a Johto starter and she got one! I wonder if she will treat it like Misty's Togepi or if she will train it and evolve it! My prediction is that it will evolve all the way to a Typhlosion and it will fight Ash's Monferno when it evolves into Infernape just like in Johto with Ash's Charizard and Harrison's Blaziken. -- Landfish7 15:29, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hopefully not. In fact, Cyndaquil shouldn't evolve on-screen while Dawn's still on the show--it's her Piplup that needs to do the on-screen evolving, not Cyndaquil! Piplup's correlation is to May's Torchic while Cyndaquil's correlation is to May's Bulbasaur. Which one of May's evolved twice on screen? Yep, Torchic, into Combusken and then Blaziken; Bulbasaur didn't evolve on-screen, just twice off it. --Shiningpikablu252 15:35, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
