By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Signature

I just wanted to give you a heads up that, per our signature policy, your signature must include a link to either your user page or your user talk page. I noticed your post on Talk:Colress didn't have either of these in the signature. Best wishes! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 05:03, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

A reminder: please edit your signature to link to either your user page or your talk page. Tiddlywinks (talk) 05:02, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
Well, I didn't see a newer message you left and it appears you either fixed it or something odd happened with your earlier one. Thanks for your time, anyway. Tiddlywinks (talk) 05:05, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
Additionally, per the signature policy linked above, your signature must reflect your actual username, so people can easily tell who left the comment. "I Herd U Liek Mudkips" does not reflect your username whatsoever. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 05:11, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:48, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon Generations

Hi there. A few things:

  1. Pokémon is always spelled é and never e. "Pokémon" is correct, while "Pokemon" is a misspelling. Please get in the habit of spelling it correctly when editing.
  2. When adding the "In Pokémon Generations" header under the "In the anime" header (whether it be on a Pokémon page or on a character page), please remember to place the preceding headers under an "In the main series" header, like so.

Thanks! --Carmen (Talk | contribs) 19:17, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hello. I have noticed that you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently, and have made a total of five userspace edits today. Please do not edit the userspace any more, as the userspace policy limits the amount you can edit your userpage: No more than three edits per day (by UTC), and you must contribute to the mainspace more than you edit your user page(s). This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our servers. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal page(s). The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your user page(s). Thank you. --- Kogoro - Talk to me - 05:41, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

Redirects

Please don't make misspelling redirects using the (Pokémon) parenthesis, it encourages intentional misspellings whenever someone uses the {{P}} (as they will see a blue link and think they spelled it correctly). Also, MewTwo already redirects to Mewtwo if you search it, and Mewtwo is spelled normally not in CamelCase.--ForceFire 05:02, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

Just wondering...

Why do you think Sun and Moon ruined the series? I respect your opinion, but it's one I have never seen before. --Celadonkey 02:06, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

No more gyms and hms (it was always charming to surf on my blastoise, fly on my crobat. Hms were really not a deal after move deleters were introduced, and moves like flash and defog were technically unneeded). Also, the island trials are more like cerimonies for "guardian deities" rather than martial arts testing the friendship between the trainer and pokemon like the gyms were, I personally think z-crystals are ridiculous and Lusamine is really weird. Further, words like "I knew you could do it!" seem to be really forced. And I will say that after Black and White, pokemon became really strange.

I really like the bug collecting and martial art fusion of pokemon. But none of the games have been really perfect, and the ones after 4th gen seem really strange to me. Just my opinion, no offense. I would not have stated if I wasn't asked. Never thought people would pay attention to my userpage :) RubyLeafGreenCrystal (talk) 02:24, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

I kind of understand now. No offense to you, but most of these things are reasons people like Sun and Moon over the others. (And personally I find the "I knew you could do it" and other similar lines cheesy yet cute and they bring me closer to my Pokemon on another level) But it's nice to see another opinion. --Celadonkey 02:32, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, many people dislike things about the old games. Always wonder why people complain about hms (we have the move deleter, and in gen 1, cut was the only nessary weak hm, as flash was technically unneeded, and attempting to cross rock tunnelin the dark is surely more fun than using flash and simply repeating what you did at Mt Moon). And I personally think there is more of a bond when you surf, fly, or even move rocks with one of your pokemon rather than some stranger pokemon, think of the diffrence between hiring someone for a task and geting help from a friend who is capable. And things like having the starter accept you (alway accepts anyway), and use of phrases like " I knew you could do it!" seem more like attempts to call away the animal controversies surrounding the series. I also thought the same of N's conclusion regarding pokemon battles in Black 2, and his statement of pokeballs being oppressive quite inconsistent.

Anyway, thanks for talking and happy editing! RubyLeafGreenCrystal (talk) 02:58, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Creating pages

Hi! I noticed the Omega (CPIW) and Alpha (CPIW) pages you created. We appreciate your interest, but if you're going to make pages, please do try to be sure you can write more than just a single sentence. A single sentence with practically no information (especially for being main characters) like you wrote on those pages is, honestly, a poor page. If you don't actually know anything else about those characters, then it might be wiser for you to just not create such a page instead of creating one that's so empty. People (who might really know the subject) are probably more likely to create a page if they see the link is red than if they see it's blue (when they just may not visit it to even realize it still needs a lot of info).

A couple other tips about creating pages... Pages need categories and usually project tags. They also generally benefit from an infobox template. A hint: when you're creating a page, it can be useful to think of a similar page that's already fleshed out well and try to imitate it. For example, on Ryū Tendō, you can see the nice infobox at the top, as well as the Project Manga banner and the categories at the very bottom.

Also, a last tip: when you're linking to a page like Alpha (CPIW), you should almost never write the link like that. The link should only show the name, like Alpha.

I hope this helps. Thanks! Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:12, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Pokémon that block paths category

Hi! I saw the category you made and I was wondering what use you think it has exactly? I know it's kind of a recurring theme, but I just can't figure why it'd be a good category, honestly (can't see what the point is). Tiddlywinks (talk) 13:22, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Since you have not responded to this in three months, the category has been deleted. There are very few Pokémon that fit the category and it is not worth a category since it is a minor mechanic (for a lack of better word).--ForceFire 03:42, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
