Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Rpp!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. You will have to register separately for it, as well. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Rpp/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --ニョロトノ666 00:17, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Categorization

Make sure that, when making new pages, you categorize them. TTEchidna 05:55, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Katsumi

This is NOT the correct way to right an article. Your facts are all wrong.

  1. Katsumi is a BOY. Katsumi is a name for both males and females. He also has a male voice actor in both English and Japanese so that should of been your first clue.
  2. You can't determine what level a Pokémon is. Therefore what you put was speculation which isn't allowed.
  3. You didn't use link templates. Torterra will just lead to a disambiguation page. You need to put {{p|Torterra}} to link to the regular Torterra page. It says all this in the Welcome message. Did you not read it?
  4. The article was poorly written and left with spelling errors.

Don't ever write an article like that again. --ケンジガール 05:58, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and on game characters' teams...

Try and use the team template. Fantina has it, so check that out. And the battles don't need to be prefixed by an explanation. TTEchidna 02:08, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Oy, oy, oy

Okay, two things.

  1. Levels don't exist in the anime. It doesn't matter what level a Pokémon learns a specific move at in the games, or if the move's a TM or not. As long as it's in the Pokémon's potential movepool it's fine. If not, well, that's why there's the list of anime move errors. In the anime, everything could be considered to be just plain level 100. All of it. That's why evolution didn't matter in Kanto.
  2. Don't go attacking other Bulbapedians. Believe me, if you think Kenji-Girl's a bitch, you haven't seen how I get when someone spells it as "pokemon" or fails to use the link templates or just plain doesn't read the manual of style. The only divide I see on Bulbapedia is between the "lol, po-kee-manz" fans who somehow end up over here and think that what they say goes because some other website says so, and the members who read the welcome, notice the policies, and make sure to get their facts straight. So please, be the second kind.

TTEchidna 17:14, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Err, there's a third kind: Peeps who just come to make a userpage. Believe me, new users come and they immediately say 'Hay! Y cun't Eye Adeet ma usapage?' Posted by the Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links08:50 21 May 2008

Signing

A lot of the time, you forget to sign the comments you leave on talk pages. Just write ~~~~ after every comment to leave your signature. You do sign some comments, but you seem to forget just as often, so try to improve on that. --Martonimos((Talk)) 05:07, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

I also wanted to commend you on how you handled the crisis centered on you a moment ago. Thanks for not lashing back on everyone and keeping a fairly even head. Most situations like this can be avoided by following the rules outlined in the welcome and detailed in the manual of style, so be sure you review those. The rest we have to deal with a case-by-case basis, and hope we don't lose our tempers while doing so. --Martonimos((Talk)) 05:20, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Synopsis

Good job. Remember to use the {{TP|Ash|Pikachu}} template too, which will give you the result Pikachu. That outta help you out. Porygon-Z 22:40, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

No problem. As I said you did good. Even used most link templates. Porygon-Z 23:13, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
It's ok. You're not being forced to do this. Porygon-Z 22:54, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

i had Win 2000 for the longest time and it never let me change file types. thats the OS you are using, right? -- MAGNEDETH 01:31, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes. Rpp 01:38, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
ok, then, you will probably need to use a website to upload it, and then "save as" from the website and save it as a different file type. btw, you dont have to go to other pages to respond. its a lot easier if you just do it here. -- MAGNEDETH 01:41, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Here? Rpp 01:43, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
Okay. By website do you mean like my own website or some specific website? Rpp 01:47, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp
well, if you have your own site, that would work, but, let me send you a site. the site allows you to upload a pic, and then you can do whatever you want with it. use it on the internet somewhere, or save it for yourself. i use it for personal pics as opposed to the Archives which are filling up with lots of crap and its annoying the mods. try it out. -- MAGNEDETH 01:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Pokétch to do list

"

New Model

Revealed in a Coro Coro Magazine, Lucas was shown to wear a new design of Pokétch in the next game for the Nintendo D.S., Pokémon Platinum. This design makes it appear to have a completely new feature. But this is purely speculation. Please don't use this. Rpp 00:27, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Rpp

How are Gerudo and Roserade similar? All I see are...sultry eyes.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 03:24, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Check your e-mail. And I also see that you ALSO have a shiny Noctowl. Anyways, I'm going to help you fix your link on your user page. And also, I see that on your website, you still have it written as "Torn World". In the English games, it is called "Ruined World." I used to hold my own Pokémon site along with many of my own stuff. Eventually, I found out it was too much, so I got rid of the Pokémon on my site.--Tavisource 04:42, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank you very much. That image was just a test but now I think I can use the image I actually want. I haven't updated my site much since I started school but thanks for the Ruined World info. I also sent the reply to you.- unsigned comment from Rpp (talkcontribs)
Send me the pictures.--Tavisource 21:42, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay. Lemme restart my computer, then I'll work on it. Rpp 21:44, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
I sent it to you via e-mail. Rpp 01:18, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I added in the Japanese. Would you like me to remove it? I don't know about you, but most of us can read it. If you don't type anything in for that field, it would shows as a comma and a period.--Tavisource 01:50, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh, no, I don't want it changed. I was trying to find a way to put Japanese in there anyway. Does it say 'Mitsuru'? (Hiragana/Katakana?) Rpp 02:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Names are usually in Katakana...but I'll change it since you want it that way.--Tavisource 22:57, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, I didn't think that Mitsuru came from a foreign language so I thought that making it in Hiragana would make sense. Just do whatever Wally's page says his Jp name is. Anyway, did you get that e-mail? Rpp 02:19, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
