Sorry, I'm Crazy About MY PAGE!

Sorry to bother you, PAK Man! I'm just craving to learn about how to make my page more "attractive" again. This time I'd like to learn how to get Pokemon Pictures on my page. Just edit my talk page OK? User: PokeNovi22 THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Once a trainer gets 8 badges, he can participate in their respective leagues. After the League is over, can they enter the same League again the next year with the same badges or do they have to travel around again? JmathTalk 13:38, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

This user's trying to pick a fight with me over Melodi. He's insisting that closed captioning is not to be trusted, even if it's the only evidence of a dub name we have, which is true of Melodi as well as Karsten. He insists that I came to a "stupid conclusion" based on what he insists "isn't actually her name", which is far from the truth--I actually run the closed captioning track, hence I saw the name "Melodi" pop up on the screen firsthand! And it appears he won't give in unless it's agreed not to use closed captioning, which would be a stupid move since it's a very useful tool to use here at Bulbapedia! --Shiningpikablu252 22:56, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Ruben Perez

It appears he's trying to pick another fight with me, this time over the opening theme played for EP082 and EP083. He's insistent that Pokémon World was the theme that played for those two episodes for their Kids WB airings, yet I remember Pokémon Theme playing for those two episodes on Kids WB. He's using the platform that Pokémon Theme for those two episodes is a Cartoon Network-only thing, when multiple people say otherwise. And I don't think he plans to back off unless he gets everyone to agree that his lie is true. --Shiningpikablu252 23:01, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

I remember seeing the episodes, although they are the start of OI, they certainly had the old theme. TTEchidna 23:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
He's most likely reffering to the DVD. Because those episodes are included in the DVD collection and Pokémon World is the only theme song they feature. Either that or he's only going by what Dogasu says. --ケンジガール 01:34, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
Except it's not the DVDs Ruben Perez is trying to pin Pokémon World on, it's the Kids WB airings. --Shiningpikablu252 03:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Shiny Noctowl is being stubborn again. Basically this one user wants to list Misty winning Togepi in the private competition between her, Ash, Brock, and Meowth to be noted in Misty's Achievements section. I removed it twice and Shiny Noctowl keeps reverting my edits. The reason I believe it shouldn't be under her achivements is:

  1. It was a private competition. It wasn't like other trainers could enter it nor was it an special annual event. It was a result of an argument.
  2. If we list it on Misty's page we would also have to list on Ash's, Brock's, and Meowth's pages.
  3. We would also have to list the competition between Ash and Misty when they fought over who really caught Totodile.
  4. Does this mean we will have to list the achievements of all of Team Rocket's "The Odd Finger" games?

I don't believe competitions that resulted from an argument between trainers should count as Achievements. Achievements are won at official competitions were more then just Ash and his friends, and enemy's, enter. What are your thoughts on this? --ケンジガール 23:30, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Ongoing work

Should this perhaps be removed? The main page doesnt really need a category, and thats the only left.Dark0805 18:45, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Would it possibly be a good idea to simply add the main page to a category? (I'm sure there's at least a category that covers Bulbapedia-related pages, like policies and whatnot.) Although it doesn't make much of a difference having the one page show up there. -- Jioruji Derako.> 02:28, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
No, pak is right, (read my talk). That page might be empty now, but it wont always be. I thought of that as well yesterday, way after i'd be able to correct myself.Dark0805 13:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Shiny Noctowl and Pokémon Platinum

Apparently, Shiny Noctowl is convinced that Pokébeach's report on Pokémon Platinum is 100% proof of the game's existence. However, even Pokébeach believes it might be a hoax and are considering the Pokémon Platinum news as a rumor. I put a disputed tag on the Pokémon Platinum article because of this, but Shiny Noctowl went and removed the tag for no apparent reason. I've put the tag back up, but I fear that this could turn into an edit war. I trust you know what to do in case this boils over, right? --Shiningpikablu252 00:12, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Shiny Noctwowl and Rampant Censorship

Shiny Noctowl's at it again. This time, he's censoring content on talk pages for no apparent reason, despite the presence of a tag that warns of potential offensive content. The pages in question are Talk:Dragon trio, Bulbapedia talk:The Great Bulbapedia Turkey Shoot, and Talk:Omanyte (Pokémon). He's trying to instigate a fight with me over this issue, and it even spilled out onto Fabu-Vinny's talk page in a heading I'd created to try to help resove this mess. It appears he won't rest unless I agree with him on this issue, which I don't. Can something be done about this? --Shiningpikablu252 15:50, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I actually have some decency. Shiny?! 15:53, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Censoring stuff on a general talk page without the permission of Dark0805 or Optimus35, the ones who made the initial comments, is not what I'd consider decency. At least ask for permission before making a snap decision you'd probably regret. --Shiningpikablu252 16:19, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for blanking a page! I completely forgot there was a tool to move a page! *dense* ^^;; Anyway, sorry again!

Um, why is List of Advanced Generation episodes protected??? I see an error in a title and want to change it.......--Theryguy512 01:33, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

No, I'm not defending the whole John-Giovanni angle. The only reason I recreated the page was to restore the redirect (to Club Member John) that had been there before the fuss began. I hope you understand. --Shiningpikablu252 22:31, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Distracting Signature Alert

I've spotted a bunch of "bunny" garbage in Optimus35's signature. This garbage pushes legitimate comments further down and makes people look at garbage between legitimate comments. What's worse is that Optimus35 is trying to encourage people to put the "bunny" garbage in their own customized signatures "to help him gain world domination". That's one fad Bulbapedia could do without. I hope all this "bunny" garbage blows over before it becomes a problem...--Shiningpikablu252 00:21, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Lol, I seriously need to stop hanging out at DeviantART. Oh, alright, *reverts to original sig*...Optimatum♏Talk|Hi 07:18, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Talking about signtatures.....I, Theryguy512, apologize for my sig for being so distracting. I'm working on another one, but it's not working. --Theryguy512 00:27, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps it would be a good time for someone to draft up a rough signature policy? No need to add a lot of restrictions, but in general, if the comment takes up one line and the signature takes up two, then your signature's a little big, don't you think?
PAK Man, (or anyone else who knows,) think you could let me know what Bulbapedia's policies on ...policies is? What I'm used to is, a policy is written up, people discuss it on the talk page for however long it takes to come to a decision, then when that's all said and done, it's moved into the official policies. From what I can see, there aren't any proposed policies already going, so I've no idea where such a thing would go... -- Jioruji Derako.> 22:16, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

{{User Username Steriotype}}

userbox??!! Aren't I allowed to make userboxes that I want? PL12 18:43, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

  1. It was spelled wrong...
  2. If you only want it for your use, put it in your namespace. If you made it via the {{User Template}}, then what's the point of getting it's own page? Tina δ 23:48, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, for starters, you spelled "stereotype" wrong. Secondly, templates intended for personal use only are best made in the User namespace, such as User:Pachirisulover12/Username stereotype. You'd link to a userspace template using something like this: {{:User:Pachirisulover12/Username stereotype}}. --Shiningpikablu252 23:48, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

I've checked this user's edit history, and it includes quite a few questionable edits. His edits on Leaf (game) including false information has led me to believe his (sloppy) edits on Diamond (Special) may also be bad edits as well. Additionally, he's started including false information on the Sevii Islands and Professor Ivy, claiming the latter lives in the former and appears in the games. I hope this false info spree can be stopped before too much damage is done...--Shiningpikablu252 23:29, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Vixen Windstorm

This user is making edits to game infoboxes that adds information that probably shouldn't be there. This user also claims that Game Freak is the developer of every single Pokémon game made, citing for Pokémon Trading Card Game (game) "Actually I own this game and what's in the Infobox is what's on the back of the package where Game Freak is also read on every English Pokémon release lol". Just because the Game Freak name appears on the box does not automatically mean Game Freak developed the game--for example, we've had some developed by Genius Sonority, Jupiter Corporation, Chunsoft, NST, and Ambrella, and from what I've read, Card GB was developed by Hudson Soft, but I hid that information from view due to lack of concrete proof. This user could use a reality check, and the information presented in the infoboxes the user has touched could use a once-over. --Shiningpikablu252 18:46, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Kenny's Breloom

Hey, PAK Man, just wanted to ask whether this article should have been removed. Breloom has appeared in 2 consecutive episodes and it has done something in both episodes. Most importantly Breloom was the main reason for Ash wanting to teach Energy Ball to Turtwig. If it wasn't for Breloom, Turtwig wouldn't have learned that attack. So it is notable in that sense.

But if we have to remove a article, I say remove Kenny's Alakazam. It only appeared in one episode for a few minutes (maybe even a few seconds) and it did nothing notable enough to get it's own article. JmathTalk 18:33, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Usually I don't agree with Jmath, but he's right on this one. Breloom is way more notable than Alakazam. --'ケンジ'ガール 22:47, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
So, you guys want me to revert? --PAK Man Talk 22:49, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

He recently spammed Optimus35's talk page. I asked for an explanation and apology on his talk page, and he hasn't responded. I think it's safe to assume that he isn't the least bit sorry, may very well do it again, and therefore should be blocked immediately. --ニョロトノ666 23:57, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Sockpuppet Suspicion

I'm sure you heard of the incident yesterday where a user called TheBlazikenMaster impersonated a known good-faith user of the same name and proceeded to vandalize Bulbapedia?

Well, I've spotted another suspicious one, potentially a sockpuppet of yesterday's vandal. A user has registered the name Pokémon Lover King Mario, using the same methods as yesterday's vandal to impersonate a known good-faith user of the same name. The suspected sockpuppet even copied the known good-faith user's stuff onto their own user and user talk pages. While I'm not going as far as to outright say that yesterday's impersonator and the suspicious account from today are one in the same without solid proof, is it possible to keep an eye on the suspected sockpuppet? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 17:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I thought there was no way to have the exact same name for two different users. JmathTalk 18:11, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
It's not the same name. The vandal uses weird symbols that are too smart and trick the computer to make the name seem the same. This happened once before with another vandal. Maybe they're the same one...--Theryguy512 19:44, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Null character. The other vandal was using a code for one of the letters in our names. Same method, different execution. Either way, if there's anything else like it, report it, shove a delete tag on both its user and user talk pages, and it should be taken care of. TTEchidna 20:01, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you recently changed the headings of Pokémon episode articles, what's up with that? TheBlazikenMaster 16:15, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Don't worry I have more than enough to do. I will do it when I feel like it though. But I really miss my user page. TheBlazikenMaster 19:41, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, just saying... TheBlazikenMaster 21:59, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

With the headings, are we supposed to put them down as minor edits? Boywonder01 22:23, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

If you want to, and if that's all you're changing. It'd be nice to write a synopsis for the episode, or change the Ash's stuff to Ash's and so on. TTEchidna 23:08, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

ok , i think i'm going to go over the edits i did earlier because i forgot to edit the headings for errors and dub edits. Boywonder01 23:11, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Actually, that page is no longer up for deletion due to the device being similar to one which has a notable article. Keeping Gameshark but deleting Action Replay would set a double standard. Simply put, we can't keep one but not the other. Either they both stay or they both go. --Shiningpikablu252 20:37, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to be honest, I know next to nothing about the games. However, I do know that Gameshark is very prominent, and probably should get its own article. On the other hand, we at Bulbapedia don't really endorse articles about hacks and cheats. To say it's a gray area is really putting it lightly. --PAK Man Talk 20:45, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Why not we create an article about all of them in one?•Pokemaniac102 20:50, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
We actually have a page on Hack games, but it needs cleanup. I suppose these items could go on that page. Again, though, I don't know too much about games, so I may be the wrong person to ask about this matter. --PAK Man Talk 20:53, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Remember the policy that evolutions of trainers' Pokemon r not reognized until it airs. May's Skitty is a different situation!--Kuki (w/ a Broken Diamond) 19:10, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

hi PAK, what's up? Remember me? I wasn't around much this year but now I'm back, and glad to be back... I see a lot's changed here so I'm easing into things... One tiny thing I wanted to ask you as an admin was about "in other languages" sections on articles. I remember a little over a year ago I had an argument with another user (I think it was Maxim) about whether or not we should keep translitations of character names and such in articles. One of the admins (Pie, I think) sided with me eventually, so we kept them. In the meantime, all these names were removed. That part I can understand... But what bothers me a little is that even on pages for Types, many foreign names were removed. I traced back the changes to this user: Siegfried. From what I got from the talk pages, the reason he\she stated was that the games aren't translated to those languages. Thing is, the anime is translated, and in this particular case of Types, it's not even translitations - it's an actual translation, a different word in a different language. Maybe we should reach a decision on the subject once and for all? Thoughts? (Sorry it was so long, lol :))--ElectAbuzzzz 10:55, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

You deleted Project Giratina? Thats not cool dude. I want to try and make a project about a pokemon. You know what? Maybe i can do one about How Dialga formed Time and how Palkia formed Space! :)

new link template

hi, what's up? would you mind protecting Template:Shiny for me and add it to shortlinks? I think it would be useful. Thanx! --electAbuzzzz (TALK) 14:54, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Shall I go ahead and tag any I find for deletion to make them easier for you to find? --ニョロトノ666 22:48, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

I take it I should do the same with Riddles, Comics, etc. Right? --ニョロトノ666 22:56, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
One more thing they've come up with: Parties. These have to go, right? See User:Theryguy512/Parties. --23:00, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
They can, I'm performing archive purge this week too. Fanfictions must go too, but should we wait a little so that Users can copy and save them, right? MoldyOrange 23:06, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I think the prizes should go. They are the reasons most Users even bother with the missions. And, in order to get rid of all remnants of the User Entertainment project, the prizes are included! I'm going to delete them. MoldyOrange 00:18, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Do you have a Lugia?--Diamaster 14:06, 2 August 2008 (UTC) How about Ho-oh, mew, celebi, or shaymin?--Diamaster 14:14, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi PAK, what's up? So, you've been editing music pages more and than me the past few days... :) I asked you a year ago and I'm asking again now that the project actually exists: how about you join our little project? I'd love to have a sysop onboard to help... If you want to. --electAbuzzzz (TALK) 10:05, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
