Regarding trivia

Hi KingisNitro. Look, I know that you are really interested in putting up trivia, but most of the trivia is rather unnotable. Maybe you can work on some other project in regards to Pokémon instead. There is so much to complete in Bulbapedia. ht14 21:40, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Userspace edits

Hey KingisNitro, how are you? I just noticed you made 13 consecutive edits to a page in your userspace. You may not be aware of this, but the Userspace policy states that you may not edit your userspace more than three times a day and that you must also make a number of edits in the mainspace instead of only editing your userspace. Please refrain from editing your userspace too much and try to focus mostly on editing the mainspace. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions! ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 00:22, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi hey uhh idk if you're gonna notice this but? I sorta have no idea how most of the things here work honestly (the UserSpaces etc.), but thought about actually using the userspace for something useful so I'm making a shiny hunting "tutorial" for Czech/Slovak community. I'm just saving a lot so I don't lose the progress. Is there a way I can maybe talk to you or someone about this because tbh I'm super confused about this "hidden stuff" (userpages etc., parts that are "not on the main wiki"), thanks if you reply KingisNitro (talk) 00:29, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
In general, just stick to the Userspace policy. Everything you need to know about userspaces is in there. There's also policies for other areas of Bulbapedia you might want to read. The most important aspect of the Userspace policy is that we mostly allow just three edits to the userspace per day per user. That includes any page that has your username/Userspace title.
Besides that, focus on editing the mainspace. We allow every user to have a userspace but in the end this is an encyclopedia first and foremost so we encourage editors to mostly focus on editing actual articles on here. That's the basics, but do read the Userspace policy. I'm willing to explain things in more detail if you need me to though. If you just stick to a maximum of three userspace edits a day and also edit some mainspace pages besides that, you're good. Using the preview button also comes in handy when editing your userspace, that way you can make sure to add multiple things you want to add in one edit instead of multiple ones. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 00:44, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
Yes, thanks. I read through the Userspace Policy, altho as this general page was only created for me after several years of using and havng an account on Bulbpedia, it seemed confusing (so I generally just stay on the mainspace, because I couldn't make sense of it).
While I understand and will try to comply with the policy (3 edits a day), I find it a bit dumb, I've made plenty of edits in the past (mainspace, move research, talk pages etc.), yet I can't use that to edit my page rn. Also, one can't make many mainspace edits, if I didn't play half the games etc., I just probably read wrong pages to do mainspace edits on. I'm not trying to find an excuse, I thank you for mentioning this to me, I was just not aware. I did use Previews a whole lot so I'll try to stick to that.
Altho I'd appreciate some explanations about formatting etc., because as I said, I intended to make a tutorial and Bulbapedia has very nice graphics and formatting options (otherwise I would do it on Tumblr or a Wikia probably). Not sure if you can help with that though. KingisNitro (talk) 00:54, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:20, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi, yes I'm aware of the Preview Button (I'm using it, believe me), but it's much more comfortable translating the lyrics of a song and seeing it side by side for each song separately instead of having to list through ~40 songs everytime I change a line/fix a typo. It groups all the edits under one line in the Recent changes anyway. ~KingisNitro (talk) 20:24, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
Think of it this way. If you so prefer previewing one section at a time, you don't have to save as soon as you've figured out one. Either keep that section open in its own tab, or save that section in a text file of some kind, or something...and when you're actually ready to take a substantial break, click to edit the whole page and put your collected edits where they belong and save that once for the day (or morning or whatever). You still end up consuming a sizeable chunk of Recent Changes for a half dozen and more edits you make over the course of an hour. Tiddlywinks (talk) 20:36, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

Please don't put any links to the second parameter of the template {{tt}}. The only things you can put there are parser functions ({{foo:...}} or {{#foo:...}}) because they parse the text correctly. --TheICTLiker4 19:01, 20 January 2020 (UTC)

  • Idk why this matters on my personal page, why I should not do that (like, what is the reason? Did I break something?) and how to include link into it otherwise if I wanna link to a different page. ~KingisNitro (talk) 16:59, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
