Organization

Just so I understand, the intended way this list is organized is with groups of characters by generation, beginning with Gen 1 and increasing as it goes down? The Great Butler (talk) 07:53, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

Yes, pretty much. If you know of any formatting methods that will better allow for separation of characters by generation, you're free to add them. It'd be quite helpful. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:00, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
It looks like you already have the biggest suggestion I could give initially: establishing a criteria of sub-groups to determine how each generation's list is arranged (e.g. player characters, then major NPCs, Gym Leaders, villain/team members, etc). An alternative would be to separate the entire list by these groups with generation order as the sub-group (like listing all the player characters first beginning with Red and progressing in generation order, then doing the same with all the major NPCs, and so on) but that is probably not as efficient a choice. Sorry, I'm not following you there... GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:11, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
I mean that each generation's section lists that generation's player characters first (Red is at the top of I, Kris and Lyra at the top of II, Brendan at the top of III, etcetera) and each list is then followed by the Gym Leaders of that generation in the middle and then Elite Four from that generation at the bottom of that generation's section. That's a good way to organize it, especially now that headers dividing the list by generation are now included. --The Great Butler (talk) 07:54, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Well, that was the point. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 08:50, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Masters-original characters

In which generation do you want to categorize the Masters-original characters (such as Lear)? Or do you want to put them in a category for themselves? The Great Butler (talk) 03:53, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

I'd say put them above everyone else under a "Masters" banner. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 04:46, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
Alright, sounds good. I'll get to work on that soon. --The Great Butler (talk) 06:19, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks! :) GrammarFreak01 (talk) 06:20, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
That ought to do it, for now at least. I'll tinker on finishing up the other generations next. The Great Butler (talk) 04:00, 26 July 2020 (UTC)

Which pages to link to?

Since the time we began working on this page, Bulbapedia as a whole has begun splitting off the Masters sections for each character into their own pages, separate from the main page for that character; an example being "Nate (game)" for Nate's appearance in the main series and "Nate (Masters)" for his appearance in Masters. Obviously, this page should in turn have one uniform set of links, either to the main pages or to the Masters pages. I would assume the Masters pages would be the correct choice, but I wanted to ask first before I started changing everything here: which should we be linking to, the main character pages or the Masters pages? The Great Butler (talk) 20:15, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Masters pages seems fine to me. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:02, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Okay, sounds good. I will try to work on switching those links over over time. The Great Butler (talk) 05:05, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Alright. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 05:06, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Characters with multiple VAs

The new voice actor for Blue following Billy Kametz's death has confirmed his casting. I was able to add him and the reference link to the main Blue (Masters) page, but how do we handle listing a character with multiple voice actors here? The Great Butler (talk) 05:10, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
