Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Fossilgojira!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. You will have to register separately for it, as well. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Fossilgojira/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --ニョロトノ666 15:44, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Edit warring

Please, do not edit war with other users, like you were doing on Mismagius (Pokémon). Especially when a sysop was first to revert your edit. Edit warring is not productive, and is not allowed. Instead of edit warring, please use the talk page of the article to discuss what has been removed. Thanks, - Kogoro | Talk to me - 15:35, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

You have been warned about this before by another administrator. This will be your last warning about this. Feel free to debate on the talk page, but do not re-add it the trivia. --RexRacer 23:06, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
You do realize that I am also an administrator?--RexRacer 02:42, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
I couldn't care any less. Fossilgojira 05:54, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
All you need to know is that when I make an edit, you don't revert it.--RexRacer 06:11, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Riiiight, because you are Jesus Yamato and what ever you say or do is unquestionably the word of god and perfect in every conceivable way Fossilgojira 14:32, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Really you should mind what you say to admins . I am not a good fan of them( not all of course,TROM is good and so is TTE) but really they are the boss. You dont want to be blocked I'm sure. --Prongs (TalkContributions) 14:39, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Please don't test my patience anymore. I know that a lot of other administrators would have blocked you for insubordinance right now, but seeing as you haven't edited the page anymore, I'm not going to do anything about it. All I'm concerned about is you re-adding the trivia, I couldn't care less about how you feel about me. Anyway, thanks for listening to the warning.--RexRacer 15:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Insubordinate? Oh forgive for not bending over backwards and submitting to your every whim while you become drunk on hallow power. And I couldn't care less about you or any other mod banning me, do you really think that will be then end of this, when the ability to access a computer is so prevalent? Fossilgojira 16:49, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Seriously... Listen to the administration, if we tell you not to add something, don't add it. If we tell you to discuss it on a talk page before adding it, then either discuss it or leave the page alone. We're the administration here for a very good reason, and you need to understand that if we say or do something, you really shouldn't undo it. Oh, and another thing... If you do get blocked, returning on another account is called using a sock puppet, and that will only get you a longer block and a permanent block for the sock. If you do sock, we will find out, and you will be reprimanded for doing so. So, to make life easier for you, and everyone else... Follow the rules & listen to the admins. Okay, thanks. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 18:25, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
You are not god just because you have a title and you never will be. Thinking that the administration or an administrator will be correct in every foreseeable scenario is ignorant to the N-th degree. And you didn't understand what I meant about being blocked: Just because you ban someone from on IP address doesn't mean squat when their are computers that can access the internet everywhere, and if you do choose to ban me for being "insubordinate" or "a disruption", that will only prove that you are drunk on power and would sooner 'remove' myself or anyone similar rather than accept the fact that you are no more important than anyone else. Fossilgojira 18:43, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Look, bud. Mismagius is no more feminine than Murkrow is. Whoop-dee-doo it's based on a witch. So what? It doesn't have a dress like Gardevoir. Its name comes from "mischief" and "mage", and is combined with the name of its prevolution, much like Ambipom and Honchkrow are based on the names of their prevolutions. The "mis" does not have anything to do with it being intended as female-only or they'd've made it female-only, or even majority female like Clefable is. Its Japanese name doesn't evoke a gender, and that's where the biggest point lies: muma means nightmare! Nothing else, male or female about it! And unlike Gardevoir also, Game Freak didn't bother to make a divergent evolution chain for males and females because Misdreavus and Mismagius are not overtly of either gender. Look at the first image you get in Google's search for Gandalf. Mismagius looks just as much like him as it does the Wicked Witch of the West, or even moreso like him. TTEchidna 21:51, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Why do you think I changed the wording to reflect different views in the first place? "Despite it's appearance" is utterly neutral and does not support either claim, so someone who sees it as masculine can then read it and be shown that it has equally feminine traits. There is NO reason for you to delete this.Fossilgojira 22:00, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually, "despite its appearance" implies that its appearance goes one way or the other. Also, really, stop being annoying. It isn't cool to fight the power here, we aren't in 9th grade anymore. You aren't willing to have a reasoned discourse, we aren't all out to get you, and in the end, the power structure here--even if it's arbitrary!--is still the one that we go by. And it will be enforced. If you want to have a prolonged discussion about this issue, as I said, do it on talk pages. And don't get into edit wars. And stop acting like you're five. -- evkl (need to talk?) 22:07, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
"Actually, "despite its appearance" implies that its appearance goes one way or the other." Fine how about this then? "Despite its appearance, Mismagmius has an equal chance of being male or female, and has traits of both." And I never said that I thought you were "all out to get me", just that I couldn't care any less of you being a moderator as it means utterly nothing regarding who is right or wrong in any situation, just because you can ban someone doesn't mean that you were right and they were wrong. Fossilgojira 22:18, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
By the way, you messed up the grammar anyway. "It's" is the contraction of "it is". "Its" is what you're looking for. TTEchidna 22:11, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
You pretty much guranteed yourself an infinite ban. You pretty much told them you would be sockpuppeting.User:DCM 23:11, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Edit wars and compromise

Apparently there's been some problems. Don't edit war. To compromise, work on talk pages. Also, admins don't just throw around power for the hell of it. They generally know what they're doing. This happens to be one of those cases where they do, in fact, know what they're doing. If you disagree, as I said, work it out on talk pages, not by edit wars. Because, as other people have said, edit warring will get you banned. -- evkl (need to talk?) 06:14, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Blocked

Alright. Three edit wars over the same piece of opinionated, useless trivia. You then say on the talk page of the article, "I'll never stop until it stays there, and none of you even have a reason to fight me as I've made it more than evident that I'm willing to re-write it until it comes across clearly that despite looking blatantly male or female to whomever sees it, it has defining traits of either." So, you have blatantly shown you have no plans to ever listen to authority, or even common sense. That's strike three, you're out. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 23:13, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
