By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Edit warring

Continually trying to redo an edit of yours that was removed is called edit warring and is a blockable offense. If you disagree with another user about something, the proper way to handle it is via the talk page of the user or of the article in question (while leaving the page itself alone). You're not really making a good case for yourself right now... GrammarFreak01 (talk) 00:59, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Hey. I wonder what type Charizard is? Pure Fire? Yeah I think so. - unsigned comment from BewareBewear (talkcontribs)
Charizard is Fire/Flying. But Sycamore never owned it as a Charizard, only as a Charmander. The type it had when Sycamore owned it is all that matters for that template's purposes, as it's shown there in the evolution stage it was in at the time Sycamore gave it to Alain; Charmander. Hey, I wonder what type Charmander is? Pure Fire? Yeah, I think so. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 03:58, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Yeah but who's Pokemon is it? Sycamore's or Alain's? It's the equivalent of saying Ash's Froakie also belongs to professor Sycamore. But I will go ahead and accept this for now.BewareBewear (talk) 17:06, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
It's Alain's, without a doubt. Pokémon Professors rarely own starter Pokémon personally. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 18:00, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
The point was, the template you edited was for Sycamore's Pokémon, not Alain's Pokémon. Alain doesn't have his own Pokémon template as he only has one Pokémon that has an article, which is not enough for its own template. Since the template is for Sycamore's Pokémon, and Sycamore only had it as a Charmander, we use the typing of the form Sycamore had it, not what it currently is.--ForceFire 03:24, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Oh OK thanks for explainingBewareBewear (talk) 00:15, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
