Welcome to Bulbapedia, 9bladesofice!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! --— Reshi643 04:52, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Reminding you about that very helpful preview button, since you seem to not use it at all. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 09:22, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

I've tried using that it does help but it still made an unexpected result the end product now is not like what I so if you can, can you please incorporate my new edits and get the language back to normal. I'm very very new to bulbapedia but saw some scripts and thought I could make it work (and it did work (most of the time)) until this giant thing happened and it glitched or something. It's stuck atm like it is so idk what to do. 9bladesofice (talk) 09:27, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

A template I made

Hi! I noticed how you struggled with adding that template to the Contrary page. Seeing as the page lacked the template, I made one for you to use. It's here (Rock Polish used an an example). Below is the blank Template's code (when editing the page, it's helpful to copy the blank section then paste it when you need a new section):

{|
{| class="roundy" style="margin:auto; background: #{{grass color light}}; border: 5px solid #{{grass color}};"
|-
|
{| border=1 width="100%" class="sortable" style="margin:auto; background: #FFFFFF; border:1px solid #{{grass color light}}; border-collapse:collapse;"
|- style="background: #;"
!{{color2|000000|Type}}
! {{color2|000000|Move}}
! Usage
! Effect
! Pokémon learned by{{tt|*|with this Ability}}
|-
| align="center" style="background:#{{ color}}" | {{typcolor|}}
|{{m|}}
|
| style="background:#; color:#" |
|{{MS|}}
|}
|}

How it works is that in the first section under the stray |- (| align="center" style="background:#{{ color}}" | {{typcolor|}}) in the place where it states {{ color}} is where you place the name of the type. So if you wanted fire, you would put down {{fire color}}. In the section with {{typecolor|}}, after the |, you put the name of the type. In the section below this (|{{m|}}), after the | of {{m|}}, you put the name of the move. If you wanted to link to Rock Polish for instance, you would put down {{m|Rock Polish}}.

Below this section is a section where you can place whether the move's stat effect only works if it used by an opponent on the user, or a move the user uses on themself. If you wanted to put down that the stat change only works if used by the opponent on the user, you could put down "Used by opponent on another Pokémon", and if the user uses a move on themself to cause this stat change, you could put down "Used by the user on themself". Since you will likely be the only one using this template, you can put down anything you want in this section, or remove from the template entirely.

After this section comes the section where you add by how many stages a stat falls (the section: | style="background:#DC143C; color:#" ). I've put special code in this section so that you can give it a color depending on the stat change. For negative stat changes, I would make the colour of that section red. I'm not sure what to use for positive stat changes, though. This page on Wikipedia has a list of good colours to use. To colour that part of the box that colour, you place the color's Hex code between the # and ; of background:#;. At the end of the section is a |, after this | you place how much a stat rises or drops. You can either say (for example) -2 speed and +2 speed, or you could say something else; since you will likely be the one using the template, you can put anything down.

The final section is the section where it displays a small image of the Pokémon who can learn that move (|). To display a small image of that Pokémon, put its Pokedex number (you can find it by looking up that Pokémon on Bulbapedia and looking at the top right of the infobox) between the | and }} of {{MS|}}. If you want to make a new section, you simply have to put down the below code above the second lowest |} :

|-
| align="center" style="background:#{{ color}}" | {{typcolor|}}
|{{m|}}
|
| style="background:#; color:#" |
|{{MS|}}

That's how you use the template. If you want to remove the colour from the section where you put down how many stages are changed in a stat, you simply have to take out style="background:#; color:#" | from that section. Below is the template with the move section and type section switched, plus a blank version of the template (you can use the below template it if you want):

{|
{| class="roundy" style="margin:auto; background: #{{grass color light}}; border: 5px solid #{{grass color}};"
|-
|
{| border=1 width="100%" class="sortable" style="margin:auto; background: #FFFFFF; border:1px solid #{{grass color light}}; border-collapse:collapse;"
|- style="background: #;"
! {{color2|000000|Move}}
!{{color2|000000|Type}}
! Usage
! Effect
! Pokémon learned by{{tt|*|with this Ability}}
|-
|{{m|}}
| align="center" style="background:#{{ color}}" | {{typcolor|}}
|
| style="background:#DC143C; color:#"
|{{MS|}}
|}
|}

Since you will likely be the one using this template, you can make any changes to the template, take out section if you want. If you need help with anything, you can send me a message or ask an admin. NOBODY (talk) 19:51, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Content

The stuff you wanted me to look at, was this the content that you originally placed on another page? Wiki software allows you to go back to previous versions of pages. If what you wanted me to look at was originally placed on another page, then I can find it. --NOBODY (talk) 12:15, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
