This is a list of Pokémon by the Poké Ball variations they can legitimately be obtained in in the games, and the lowest level they can legitimately be obtained in said Ball. This list does not consider the Generation I and Generation II games, which did not keep track of the Pokémon's Poké Ball after it was caught, and are not compatible with current generation games. As a Pokémon keeps the same Ball through evolution and transfer between generations, Pokémon which may not be legitimately able to be caught from the wild in one of the listed balls are able to evolve from a Pokémon which can be, such as a Charizard in a Cherish Ball, able to be evolved from a Japan-exclusive event Charmander, or a Feraligatr in a Dive Ball, able to be evolved from a Shadow Croconaw caught in Pokémon Colosseum. However, this does not mean that all pre-evolved forms will be able to be caught in the same Balls as their evolutionary relatives, most especially baby Pokémon, which are not typically found in the wild.
This list should be up-to-date with the latest releases of event Pokémon, which, starting in Generation IV, are the only Pokémon available in the Cherish Ball.
