User:Dannyboy601/Template:MoveList

This collection of sub-templates is based upon the already-existing Template:Movelist. They are intended to list the properties of moves in different generations.

Documentation

MoveList/head

This template begins the table.

Parameters
Description Notes
1 The number of the generation to which the table pertains.

MoveList/1

This template is used to display the properties of a single move in Generation I, with each instance of the template corresponding to a new row in the table.

Parameters
Description Notes
1 The name of the move.
2 The move's type. The template does not forbid the Dark, Steel, Fairy and ??? types, but they should not be used, as they did not exist in Generation I. The template defaults to the ??? type.
3 The move's base power. If there is no numerical value, a single em dash [—] should be used rather than leaving the parameter blank.
4 The move's accuracy The percentage symbol [%] is automatically included by the template, so there is no need to enter it manually. If there is no numerical value, a single em dash [—] should be used rather than leaving the parameter blank.
5 The move's base PP. The template automatically uses this to calculate and also show the maximum amount of PP that can gained using PP Ups or a PP Max.
6 The target of the move. In Generation I, this can be one of three values:
  • "both" for moves that target both the user and the opponent (i.e. Haze).
  • "foe" for moves that target the opponent (e.g. Growl).
  • "self" for moves that target the user (e.g. Swords Dance).
7 The description of the move from Pokemon Stadium. Move descriptions did not exist in the first generation core series games.

MoveList/2

This template is used to display the properties of a single move in Generation II, with each instance of the template corresponding to a new row in the table.

Parameters
Description Notes
1 The name of the move.
2 The move's type. The template does not forbid the Fairy type, but it should not be used as it did not exist in Generation II.
In Generation II, this can be one of seven values:
  • "field" for moves that target the entire field (e.g. Hail).
  • "foesidefield" for moves that target the opponent's side of the field (i.e. Spikes).
  • "usersidefield" for moves that target the user's side of the field (e.g. Light Screen).
  • "both" for moves that target both the user and the opponent (e.g. Perish Song).
  • "foe" for moves that target the opponent (e.g. Whirlpool).
  • "self" for moves that target the user (e.g. Recover).
  • "team" for moves that target the user's entire team (e.g. Heal Bell).
7 The description of the move from Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
8 The description of the move from Pokémon Stadium 2.
9 The number of the generation in which the move debuted.

MoveList/foot

This template ends the table.

Parameters
Description Notes
1 The number of the generation to which the table pertains. This should be the same as in the corresponding MoveList/head template.
