User:Boogabooga/Gary's Venusaur

Gary's Venusaur (Japanese: サトシのハヤシガメ Geiri's Fushigibana) was the first Pokémon that Gary captured in the Kanto region.

History

Gary recieved Venusaur as a Bulbasaur in The Journey Begins!. He recieved Ivysaur from Professor Oak to begin his journey. Venusaur was the only Pokémon left, as Gary had woke up late. He had made Gary believe that he did not want to reside in a Poké Ball, but in fact, he was just testing Gary to see if he could contain it. Oak lent Gary a Tauros to battle him with, telling Gary that he should be able to capture him, being that the Tauros belonged to a very skillful Trainer. After some time, he able to catch him.

Venusaur is a witty yet kind Pokémon that has fun tricking Gary in many sorts of pranks. He apparently has a strong jaw, as he is seen carrying Gary in his mouth after he fell asleep as a Bulbasaur, despite Gary weighing much more than him. He has done this to Zach as well. He has also been shown to be incredibly fast. Ivysaur has also shown to be quite strong, such as the time when it used Vine Whip on Gary when he was angry, causing Gary to get knocked out.

In The Journey Begins!, Ivysaur battled Zach's Growlithe and lost. Although it held its own in battle, it appeared to hesitate upon receiving Gary's command to dodge attacks. Although he used to hesitate, and often ignore Gary's orders, he has grown closer to him and now usually obeys, though he is occasionally rebellious.

In Tag Battle in Cerulean City! Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur during a battle against Misty's Starmie. It quickly became apparent that, due to its new body being larger, that he could do more damage in battle. This made him very happy, though not for long as he eventually fainted from battling too much.

In the events leading up to and the final battle with Team Rocket, Ivysaur evolved along with Zach's Quilava, his Growlithe, his Kirlia, and Gary's Lombre and Sealeo.
