Due to some problems with my computer, I haven't been able to edit much lately. I should be active again later this month.

History with Pokémon

To all people who are actually reading this: I'm .GreenPhoenix. I used to edit Wikipedia frequently, so this is not my first wiki. I still don't get most of the wikicode, though. Despite being a longtime Pokémon fanboy, I'm relatively new to the online Pokémon community, having joined Bulbapedia last night. I lurked through here for a few months before joining.

I got into Pokémon shortly after the anime hit North American shores. I loved the anime, and it was all I really thought about. I kept bugging the hell out of my parents to buy me some Pokémon merchandise. I wouldn't get into the games for a couple of years later though.

Around the beginning of Generation II, my parents brought home a copy of Pokémon Silver. I was hooked instantly. I would trade and battle with my friends all the time. Pretty soon, I started collecting the Generation I games.

After Pokémon stopped being a fad, I remained a fan unlike many other people. I bought a copy of Pokémon Ruby, and fortunately I still had two or three friends to trade with. Around this time, my cousins got into Pokémon, and they went out and got RS too. Of course, when Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen came around, I got those too. By the time Pokémon Emerald came out, all of my friends lost interest in Pokémon, so finding someone to trade with was a bit harder.

When Pokémon Diamond and Pearl saw releases, I of course got those, then got Pokémon Platinum two years later. It's been the same ever since: I still watch the anime, I still play the games but have a hard time finding a trading partner, and I eagerly await the US release of HGSS.
