Debut Mewtwo — Prologue to Awakening

An unnamed forest is an anime-exclusive location in Unova, and the setting of Mewtwo — Prologue to Awakening.

It is near a mountain range where Virgil was forced to land his helicopter following a mission. He met two residents of the area, Anna and her grandfather Oscar, who told him about their encounter with an unusual Pokémon.

Later, after meeting a man named Dirk, who informed him that the Pokémon was Mewtwo, Virgil set out with Anna and Oscar to find it. With some help from the local Pokémon as well as Anna and Oscar's Stoutland, Virgil's Eevee, Leafeon and Vaporeon found Mewtwo. Dirk, who had misled the others by not telling them he was really a Pokémon hunter, attacked with machines hoping to capture Mewtwo, leading to a battle that triggered a forest fire. Mewtwo put out the fire by dropping the water from a nearby lake onto it, then freed Dirk's Pokémon from his control and departed.
