The Ultimate Pokémon Center was a fansite that documented various game mechanics about the Pokémon games. It was created by Peter O. (poccil).
History
The Ultimate Pokémon Center was originally hosted on poccil's personal website at the URL http://www.poccil.f2s.com/main.html.
From 2003 until 2007, the Ultimate Pokémon Center was hosted by the fansite Pokémon UK (pkmn.co.uk) at the URL http://upc.pkmn.co.uk/. In 2005, http://upc.pkmn.net began redirecting to this URL.[1]
In June 2007, the Ultimate Pokémon Center moved to the URL http://www.upokecenter.com/, due to the previous host Pokémon UK deciding to discontinue hosting the site due to its high traffic.[2]
In April 2011, a backup of the Ultimate Pokémon Center was created at http://upokecenter.dreamhosters.com/. This domain was hosted by Legendary Pokémon.[3]
In October 2011, upokecenter.com went down,[4] temporarily making the Dreamhosters backup the only accessible version of the site. upokecenter.com was restored in February 2012.[5]
In July 2013, many of the site's URLs were updated to contain full game titles within them instead of abbreviations, for search engine optimization purposes.[6]
In December 2013, the site's webmaster, poccil, temporarily lost access to upokecenter.com due to being unable to pay for hosting.[7]
In November 2014, most of the static content at upokecenter.com was relocated to upokecenter.dreamhosters.com/articles.[8]
Prior to October 2015,[9] an archive of The Ultimate Pokémon Center was created at the URL http://upcarchive.playker.info. In mid-2018, this archive was taken down.[10]
Prior to June 2016, the upokecenter.com domain expired and was never renewed.[11] The upokecenter.dreamhosters.com domain was last known to be accessible in August 2016.[12]
