Tommy (Japanese: トミー Tommy) is a character who appeared in Pokémon: Twilight Wings.

History

Tommy in John's room

Tommy was being treated in the same hospital as John, where the two shared a wardroom. They became friends during their stay, bonding over their shared dreams of becoming Pokémon Trainers like their idol, Galar Champion Leon.

In Letter, John wrote a letter to Leon and planned to deliver it to Rose during his hospital visit. However, when John missed the visit, Tommy helped him deliver the letter to Chairman Rose in person.

In Moonlight, Tommy had been discharged after making a full recovery. However, before he was discharged, he had an argument with John, who he believed was not being realistic and was too focused on becoming a Trainer. To make amends, Tommy sought out Allister in the hopes of getting a ticket to Leon's next match. Allister declined the request, but after learning about Tommy and John's argument, he helped Tommy reach the hospital and apologize to John in person. John accepted Tommy's apology, and the two agreed to become the greatest Trainers together.

In Sky, Tommy watched the match between Leon and Raihan at Wyndon Stadium together with Allister.

Character

More knowledgeable about the world at large, Tommy acts like an older brother to John, talking to him enthusiastically about Pokémon.

Trivia

John and Tommy as Trainers
  • In his artwork on the Japanese site, Tommy's eyes were initially colored brown rather than green.
  • As a tribute to the end of the miniseries, director Shingo Yamashita posted an image of the first day of John and Tommy's journey on his Twitter. In the image, Tommy is seen with a Dreepy and John with a Rookidee. This also suggested that they were discharged from the hospital.
