The ticket scout (Japanese: チケット専用バディーズサーチ Ticket-Only Buddies Search) is a method of obtaining sync pairs in Pokémon Masters EX. It is accessed through the shop after completing Chapter 1 of the PML Arc. Ticket scouts require specific types of tickets, which may be obtained from certain sync pair scouts, battle rewards, or log-in bonuses.
Master Fair-exclusive, mix-exclusive, and Arc Suit Fair-exclusive sync pairs currently cannot be obtained from ticket scouts.
Categories
When the ticket scout menu is accessed from the shop, ticket scouts will be listed under one of two tabs: General or Limited Time.
General
General ticket scouts include 5★-Guaranteed scouts that only feature non-limited 5★ sync pairs from the general sync pair scout pool. There are nine general ticket scouts available to use: eight ticket scouts which each exclusively feature sync pairs with a specific region theme skill (excluding Paldea and Pasio) and one that combines all of the sync pairs from the eight region-specific scouts. General ticket scouts do not expire, though they update over time; typically, sync pairs are added to their respective ticket scout pools at the nearest anniversary following their debut scout. Offering rates are evenly divided among all pairs in each pool.
The 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout requires 5★ Scout Tickets to use. Region-specific 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scouts require 5★ Scout Tickets named after the corresponding region; for example, 5★ Kanto Scout Tickets are needed to use the 5★-Guaranteed Kanto Ticket Scout, and so forth. The player has the option to scout one sync pair for 30 scout tickets, five sync pairs for 150 scout tickets, or ten sync pairs for 300 scout tickets.

The One-Time-Only 5★-Select Ticket Scout is a general ticket scout that does not expire but will disappear from the menu after the player uses it. It was first made available on February 24, 2022. All 3★, 4★, and 5★ sync pairs from the general sync pair scout pool are included, and the player gets to choose one of three fair-exclusive pairs after performing a Sync Pair Scout ×10:
No. | Sync pair | Type | Role |
---|---|---|---|
65 | Water | Support | |
76 | Grass | Tech | |
84 | Fire | Special Strike |
Limited Time
Limited time ticket scouts have a set duration and disappear from the menu after their scout period ends or all of the respective tickets are used. These types of ticket scouts only require one ticket per use, but the tickets are distributed in limited quantities and may only be available for a short time period.
All sync pairs with the Seasonal Outfit and Special Costume theme skills, as well as all variety sync pairs, have been made available in limited time ticket scouts.
In these types of ticket scouts, the player is able to preview the moves, stats, passive skills, and sync grids of all featured sync pairs. It will also display whether the featured sync pairs have buddy moves or can Mega Evolve or Dynamax. If a featured sync pair can Dynamax, the player can preview one of their Max Move animations; otherwise, the player can preview their sync move animation.
Featured
Featured Ticket Scouts offer the player one sync pair from a pool of multiple pairs. The scout pool only includes 5★ sync pairs from the general sync pair scout pool and one or more featured pairs; the recruitment rate of the featured pair(s) totals to 25%. They were previously known as "Great Ticket Scouts" prior to the Morty Seasonal Featured Ticket Scout, relating to the name of the 5★ Great Scout Ticket required to use them.
Guaranteed
Guaranteed Ticket Scouts assure that the player obtains the featured sync pair. They were previously known as "Master Ticket Scouts" prior to the Morty Seasonal Guaranteed Ticket Scout, relating to the name of the 5★ Master Scout Ticket required to use them. Guaranteed Ticket Scouts are offered for seasonal and costume sync pairs in conjunction with their respective Featured Ticket Scouts.
5★-Select
5★-Select Ticket Scouts offer 5★ fair-exclusive sync pairs in their scout pool, along with pairs from the general scout pool. In these ticket scouts, a sync pair scout (usually for 10 pairs) is performed first, followed by a prompt for the player to choose a 5★ pair from the pool. As such, these scouts function identically to 5★-Select sync pair scouts with the exception of requiring tickets instead of Gems. Many 5★-Select Ticket Scouts have been held so far, including the Fair-Exclusive 5★-Select Ticket Scout, Run-Up to 3.5 Years 5★ Champion Select Ticket Scout, Anime Collaboration 10-Pair + 5★-Select Ticket Scout, and One-Time-Only 5★-Select Ticket Scout.
Other
Several other recurring ticket scouts that do not follow the conventions of the above scouts include:
- The 10-Pair Scout occurs during anniversaries and half-anniversaries. Unlike most limited time ticket scouts, the 10-Pair Scout can be performed multiple times before expiring. The scout pool only includes pairs from the general sync pair scout pool; in rare cases, the pool may also include fair-exclusive pairs introduced up to the scout's debut.
- The New Year's Poké Fair Ticket Scout is held at the start of a new year. Fair-exclusive pairs are included in the scout pool.
Methods of obtaining tickets
Events
Many different events in Pokémon Masters EX offer scout tickets as rewards for completing specific criteria.
Scout tickets may be given out for completing battles. Up to one regional 5★ Scout Ticket can be obtained daily for completing the Battle Point Challenge; the type of ticket depends on the region featured for that day. In the Villain Arc, winning the final battle of each chapter on Hard difficulty rewards the player with 30 5★ Scout Tickets corresponding to the region the chapter focuses on; for the final chapter, regular 5★ Scout Tickets are given out. In Victory Road, a total of 30 5★ Scout Tickets are spread across six battles.
Some tickets are locked behind limited-time battles:
- On Pokémon Masters Day every month, five 5★ Scout Tickets are one of the first-time completion rewards for completing the battle area Pika-Presents for Everyone!
- All types of regional 5★ Scout Tickets were available across three battles during Friendiversary Gifts, from March 14 to 22, 2022.
- New Year's Scout Tickets can be obtained from winning battle areas in the New Year's Challenge.
5★ Scout Tickets can be obtained simply for completing story areas. As part of the Villain Arc, the player can earn 30 tickets from each chapter, excluding the Paulo chapter: 15 for completing the fifth story area, and another 15 for completing the tenth and final story area. The type of 5★ Scout Ticket earned corresponds to the region the chapter is based on; for example, 5★ Kanto Scout Tickets are exclusive to the Kanto chapter, Team Rocket Returns, and so on. In Victory Road, the One-Time-Only 5★-Select Scout Ticket is a reward for completing the story area The Ultimate Graduation Test: Part 2.
Events that distribute items on a point-based system have also included scout tickets as possible rewards:
- The prestige event Battle Buffet Bash, which ran from November 30 to December 6, 2020, offered up to eight 5★ Scout Tickets as the player collected more Prestige Points.
- All time trial events each offer 5★ Scout Tickets in varying amounts the more points are earned.
- All high score events offer 30 5★ Scout Tickets for earning points. They may be given out in packs of five or ten per point threshold reached.
General and regional 5★ Scout Tickets may appear in the shop for different events in exchange for event vouchers. Regular 5★ Scout Tickets have been present in almost every event exchange shop since its introduction. The quantity of these tickets that can be obtained varies by event, though the exchange rate of 200 event vouchers per ticket has remained consistent—an exception to this is in the Blissful Bonanza! shop, where Bliss Tickets are used instead.
Events that have alternative methods of giving out rewards, like Prize Boxes, may also feature scout tickets. A limited number of these events have offered regional 5★ Scout Tickets:

Missions
In the Legendary Arena, 5★ Scout Tickets are awarded as mission rewards for defeating certain Legendary Pokémon under certain conditions.
Different types of tickets may be given out for completing event missions:
- During the second run only of Morty's Secret Ghost Training, the player could earn ten 5★ Johto Scout Tickets for completing Mission 12.
- In the special event Stop the Evil Mastermind!, 30 of each regional 5★ Scout Tickets could be earned for completing missions.
- The 10-Pair + 5★-Select Scout Ticket was obtainable from July 7 to 24, 2022 for completing all the Anime Collaboration Special Missions.
- A Fair-Exclusive 5★-Select Scout Ticket was obtainable for completing eight of the Four-Year Anniversary Celebration Missions.
Scout tickets have previously been given out during limited-time Mission Bingo events.
- The Fifty Million Downloads Celebration Special Missions bingo, which ran from May 3 to 17, 2023, offered two 5★ Scout Tickets as the blackout reward.
- The Villain Arc-themed bingo, which ran from August 16 to October 1, 2023, had eight bingo spaces that each had 30 of one type of regional 5★ Scout Ticket. Players who completed the final story area of each Villain Arc chapter (excluding the Paulo chapter) earned the rewards depending on the region completed.
- The Eevee Day Celebration Mission Bingo, which ran from November 21 to December 5, 2023, had an Eevee Celebration Ticket as the blackout reward. The Eevee Day Celebration Bingo returned from November 21 to December 6, 2024, offering a Eevee Celebration Ticket C as the blackout reward instead.
Log-in bonuses
Certain tickets were obtainable from log-in bonuses which coincided with anniversaries or certain sync pair scouts. They could be claimed from the Present Box after opening the app during the limited time period the bonus was active.
Paid scouts
Certain paid Gem-only sync pair scouts offer 5★ Great Scout Tickets and 5★ Master Scout Tickets for using them, like seasonal, costume, and variety tiered scouts. Tiered scouts with ten tiers will award the player with a 5★ Great Scout Ticket for reaching the fifth tier and a 5★ Master Scout Ticket for reaching the final tier. Tiered scouts with only five tiers offer a 5★ Great Scout Ticket for reaching the fifth tier. Since the Aaron Spotlight Scout and Ball Guy Variety Scout, 5★ Master Scout Tickets are also offered as part of paid Gem spotlight and variety scouts, respectively. These scouts have three separate "tiers", similar to tiered scouts; after using the third and final scout, a 5★ Master Scout Ticket for the featured sync pair is awarded. All tickets obtained in this fashion are sent to the Present Box to be claimed.
Several other types of scout tickets have been made available through limited-time paid sync pair scouts:
Trainer Lodge
The Trainer Lodge provides the player with many opportunities to get 5★ Scout Tickets. For each Trainer that can be interacted with in the Lodge, a total of 30 tickets can be obtained by raising their Friendship Level—10 each at Friendship Levels 5, 35, and 65. After raising a Trainer's Friendship Level to 30 or above, there is also a 1% chance that the Trainer will gift the player 10 5★ Scout Tickets on a given day (only if they were the last Trainer the player interacted with the day prior).
Additionally, 5★ Scout Tickets can be found in rare caches from expeditions. They have a flat 0.2% chance of appearing in a cache of any rarity, with rarer caches yielding more tickets as such: 10 tickets from 1★ caches, 20 tickets from 2★ caches, and 30 tickets from 3★ caches.
Battle Points
5★ Scout Tickets are one of the possible rewards the player can earn for collecting Battle Points. A total of 80 tickets can be received per round of Battle Point Tier Rewards.
