The Truth—Mane or Feathers? (Japanese: 正体みたり翼か髪か！？ Is Its True Form Wing or Hair!?) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Iono (Fall 2024) & Flutter Mane and Shauntal (Fall 2024) & Froslass.

The "Iono Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Iono (Fall 2024) & Flutter Mane from the beginning of the event to November 6, 2024, and the "Shauntal Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Shauntal (Fall 2024) & Froslass from October 17 to November 6, 2024.

This event featured event points, a currency that players could earn by completing battles. Players received rewards based on the number of points accumulated, including 5★ Scout Tickets, a Sprint Move Candy Coin, a 5★ Power-Up, and medals. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.

The player could battle using Iono (Fall 2024) & Flutter Mane or Shauntal (Fall 2024) & Froslass to obtain +0.6× bonus points; Klara & Slowbro to obtain +0.4× bonus points; and any unlisted Paldea or Unova sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus points.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with one or fewer sync pairs fainting and sync pairs with specific theme skills on the team.
