Protection

I didn't want to add the protect thingy to the actual page, so I figured I'd put it here to draw attention. Is that appropriate, or should I post on some administrator's talk page instead next time? Also I wasn't sure if redirection templates even required protection, but I noticed Leafgreen_color has it. Xd_color isn't protected either. — Laoris (Blah) 17:02, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't think protection would be necessary. Probably isn't needed on Leafgreen either, but no good reason to remove it on the same note. The main reason to protect a template is if it might be a vandalism target, since templates often get used on a bunch of pages. But preferably, most articles will be using the correctly spelled template, so this isn't a danger. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 06:53, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Preferably articles would use the correctly spelled template, but a significant number of protected templates are using the incorrectly spelled form (including the correct 'FireRed color' template, which recursively refers to itself through the 'Firered color' redirect). — Laoris (Blah) 07:34, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Good point. Those other templates will need to be fixed eventually, but I've just protected this one for now. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 07:42, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Eh, really, it's fine to use redirected templates, but protection on the redirects is needed as well. TTEchidna 07:42, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Ok, don't forget 'Xd color' too then (lowercase d). — Laoris (Blah) 07:44, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Return to "Firered color" page.
