Release information

This card was included in the Twilight Masquerade expansion with artwork by Sanosuke Sakuma, first released in the Japanese Transformation Mask expansion. Three Cosmos Holofoil versions of this card with different stamps in the bottom right corner of the artwork were given away with eligible Pokémon Trading Card Game purchases at participating retailers in various countries starting May 24, 2024. Variants featuring a red GameStop logo were available in-store or online from GameStop in the United States and Canada with a $15 minimum purchase. Variants featuring an EB Games logo were distributed in Australia and New Zealand with purchases worth at least a $15 at EB Games stores or through their online shop.^[1] Variants featuring the Twilight Masquerade logo were also distributed in several other countries overseen by The Pokémon Company International.

A Cosmos Holofoil version featuring a Pikachu jack-o'-lantern stamp in the bottom right corner of the artwork became available in Trick or Trade 2024 BOOster Bundles from August 30, 2024. Another Cosmos Holofoil version, this time with no additional graphics, was made available in two products from November 15, 2024: the Ogerpon ex Premium Collection and the Fall 2024 Collector Chest.

A Full Art SVP Black Star Promotional print with artwork by kodama was made available in the Twilight Masquerade Elite Trainer Box from May 24, 2024. A version with the Pokémon Center logo above the Retreat Cost was also available in the Twilight Masquerade Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box from the same day. In Japan, this Full Art print was included as a SV-P Promotional card alongside an unnumbered Jumbo card variant in the Ogerpon Special Jumbo Card Set, which was released on May 17, 2024. In Indonesia, this print was released as part of the "Ogerpon Face Challenge" social media campaign held in collaboration with girl group JKT48. Participants of the campaign were required to follow the Explore Pokémon Indonesia TikTok account, upload a video on the platform using special Ogerpon-themed filters, and then correctly answer a quiz about Ogerpon. Once verified by staff, people could then receive a copy of the card at distribution counters present at various locations:
