Further Name Origin

Common UK naming convention for settlements build by a river - literally Stow (the name of the town) on (the banks of the river) Side (name of the river). Common examples would be Ross-on-Wye or Stoke-on-Trent. Bit long for the 'Origin' box though. SJ (talk) 11:05, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Yes, this name is a rather excellent pun of that and the instruction "stow[ verb] on side". LaprasBoi (talk) 20:40, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
I feel like it is both a pun on "stow [verb] on side" and a reference to "onside pass", considering that all other localizations include a reference to passes in sports. --AmbientDinosaur (talk) 21:05, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Name Origin trivia?

I saw the discussion here & in the edits about potential other influences on the town's name in English. Since many of them seem long for the box in the Name Origin section's box (as pointed out above), it seems like the Trivia section may be a better place for that info. The UK "[Place]-on-[River]" piece seems worth including (especially given the juxtaposition of the real-world places with the arid, riverless Stow-on-Side), and the others may be worth including there, too. Thoughts? –Butterfreeism (talk) 23:15, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

It's already technically part of the trivia section, just in table format rather than text like on Pokemon articles. I don't length is really an issue.--ForceFire 05:08, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
