How about this image for the Card Difficulty?

149FHyx.png

It may need to be shrunk though. Sadly, I can't upload it because I'm still not autoconfirmed on the archives, and I'm not sure what to edit there if I can't actually upload anything. >_< Also, I noticed that the cards with the same difficulty have the same color icon, so we could make it blue for cards 1 & 4, green for cards 2 & 5, and purple for 3 & 6. What do you think guys? Unowninator (talk) 19:54, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

Copied from Pokémon Shuffle's main Discussion page so that it stays attached to the new Mission Card page. It also seemed relevant to the new Mission Card redesign discussion below. --Marlofkark (talk) 17:32, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Mission Cards page split

This section is rather large and is likely to continue growing as more mission cards are added. I think there's enough to it that it should be split into its own page. Any thoughts about this? VioletPumpkin (talk) 23:50, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Yes, I thought so, too.
That said, I also think a design upgrade wouldn't be a bad idea. Now that there are many, they could be looking more like cards, less like a table. (But all of that might very well be an independent topic.) Nescientist (talk) 14:38, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
Mission Card split is now complete. I expanded upon the opening paragraphs a little bit but will otherwise leave any comprehensive redesign to other more adventurous souls. As more Mission Cards are added, it might be useful to consider adding card headings to Nescientist's individual "card" look idea for navigation purposes. The current, one, large table is rather dense. However, given the overall size in the new context of its own page, navigation is not current a problem. If the future, scrolling around just to find Mission Card 31 of 40-something Mission Cards might be a bit tendious. --Marlofkark (talk) 17:10, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Okay, good to know that we apparently all agree the cards should ideally be card-like. I'm not in adventure mode right now, but I'd imagined each individual Mission Card might end up in one header template call, several entry template calls, and possibly a footer template call. The header templates could and should then include the card number. Nescientist (talk) 20:07, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Testing Alternate Forms

The "incomplete" notice on the article says that we should check whether alternate forms work for completing missions. So far, I can confirm that Mega Spooky Sableye does not count towards mission card #17. That's likely not enough evidence to rule out alternate forms altogether, but I don't have access to the older mission cards. Can anyone test Mega Winking Audino (card #1) various Pikachu (card #2), Winking Torchic (card #7), and Winking Cottonnee (card #11)? While we certainly don't need to have all of these tested, it would be better than going off of just one example. Boblers (talk) 04:11, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

For me, if the Spooky Sableye isn't counting towards the Mission Card, that is acceptable to me as being something that cannot be done at all. Though I agree tey should be tested, I am currently utilizing my Hearts to try to make back some lost coins and can't check any yet, myself. If I get around to trying the cards, I'll see what I can find out. CycloneGU (talk) 04:14, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Winking Pikachu can trigger Marshtomp's stage on Mission Card #2. Nescientist (talk) 15:55, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Interesting. I already have the first Mission Card completed and don't have its Winking variant on my other game, so I cannot test that; however, if that one eventually repeats, I'll try to catch it on that system and check that one. I so far only have the one Winking set of Dailies, myself, as well as the odd special Pikachu. CycloneGU (talk) 21:08, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
I can't test cards 1, 2 or 17, but I can confirm that Winking Torchic works for card 7 and Winking Cottonee works for card 11. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 22:07, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Nice! I couldn't test those two, myself, but I'll see about trying a couple of completely different Pikachu for card #2 and try to match only those. If either of them works, we know it works with pretty much any Pikachu. At this point, that's the only test I could have possibly done as I was on hiatus around Halloween when the Spooky Sableye came out. CycloneGU (talk) 22:40, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

(resetting indent) Has anyone managed to test Mega Winking Glalie on card #19? I've made a few attempts, but the boosted damage from removing the blocks always manages to KO Sceptile too quickly. --Boblers (talk) 09:04, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure I have the Winking Glalie. If I ever come across it, I can try. The test might require a Mega Start, too. CycloneGU (talk) 18:41, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Better aesthetic presentation

Per the discussion two sections above, I've made a mockup of the first two cards in my userspace at User:Pumpkinking0192/Mission Card test. I think this is a lot better-looking and easier to read. What do y'all think? Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 22:45, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

I like it! The reward images are especially helpful for readability. Since you're going for a look similar to the in-game cards, maybe you could change the colors of these cards to match their in-game counterparts (blue for rank 1 cards, green for rank 2, purple for rank 3)? Also, would it be possible to use a modified version of the Pikachu silhouette icon posted in the discussion three sections above? Boblers (talk) 23:04, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
I was just going to mention colours. Also, we should use the Pikachu icon used for difficulty as well, matching the coloursin it if possible as well. The one in the top discussion is a good starting point. CycloneGU (talk) 23:08, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Good ideas! I changed the colors, but I couldn't find a purple in our color templates that matched the card, so for lack of a better option I used {{sinnoh color}}. I'm not sure if I'm authorized on the Archives to upload images, so if someone would be kind enough to take care of the Pikachu icon, that'd be great. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 23:21, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
We need the three variants of it to use it, but I'll ask about getting a colour to match the purple setup and see if we can get one. Can you post a screengrab of one of the purple Mission Cards, perhaps? I'm also not good at the art and drawing aspects, so if someone can do the Pikachu icons in the three colours properly, that would also be helpful and I can upload those. CycloneGU (talk) 23:59, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

(Resetting Indent)

I decided to try making something as close as I possibly could to the actual look of the in-game one and added it at the bottom. Thoughts? CycloneGU (talk) 00:39, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

I like it — more concise is always better! But the background seems a hair too dark to have text over it, at least on my screen brightness (which is, admittedly, low). I hate to use hex codes instead of color templates, but just as a test I added a second version with lighter colors and I think it looks a lot nicer and is a lot easier to read. Just for kicks, I also added a third version using as close as my eyes can guesstimate to the exact color shades, and that one looks pretty garish and bad. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 01:12, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
Do we want the grey border the game uses?
At a minimum, we'll have to add another column and use it for the stars, and possibly set widths for the columns so they show the text in a single line if possible. The stars can be a very tiny column with one star above another like the game. This is possible.
The original concept you came up with is the typical table setup, though, and is also clean for that. If we use that, I recommend we incorporate cell shading to match the darker colours on the missions themselves. We can keep the rewards lighter. CycloneGU (talk) 01:24, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
